Plans for the NS2 beta?

Hi there,

I've been a long time player of NS and enjoyed the recently released video of the NS2 footage A LOT! My question may be a little premature but I was wondering if anyone knew what the devs plans are for the beta?

    We don't have any firm plans here yet but I'm quite sure we WILL have one. Now that we are able to sell the game from our own web site, I wouldn't be surprised if we sold pre-orders which let you play the beta before it was released. That would be a great way for us to raise some extra money to make sure we would ship an incredible game.

    I'm <i>so</i> game, and I'd bet most of the players here are too.

    Wow, engine video, preorder confirmation, and interview all in the same week! Is this the start of a trend, or just to tide us over until the next internal SCRUM deadline. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Get in line. Fairy is the first official betatester with over 10,000 hours of play, with cal <i>and</i> ansl experience, in several clans among the community.

    About paid betas - if I wasted my money on Vanguard, I'll probably shell out a couple dollars for an NS2 beta.

    Thanks for the update Flayra. After watching that video I went from checking the forums every two days back to every day. Call me obsessive but this game took fps to another level and I've loved it ever since.

    I will be pre-ordering the game to get access to the beta once/if it's available.

    Sure, would be a very nice way to contribute to you guys, I say go for it.

    All I know is that I tossed money at the TF2 Beta that came with Orange Box, after playing the version of Peggle that came with it that is.

    It's really a great idea but we need to contribute a lot; Max's hunger eating burgers is just HUGE, even if he looks like a skinny guy, I bet he eats like an Onos ;D.

    atm im playing Call of Duty WaW beta witch is not all that. to few maps.

    an open beta would be nice and i hope they dont cut it short like they did with call of duty world at war pc beta.

    so all this talk of beta and everyone saying dont ask release dates and such how about a rough estimate on progress on creation? how far are you guys on the creation of it to be beta stage? is that a fair question at least?
