Marines are pros, trained by TSA. Holding a pistol sideways may look fancy but f***s up your aiming, not to mention that after a shot its much harder to pull the gun back from the recoil. (trust me, ive been a sportshooter for some years and tried out almost every possible crazy stuff you can think of xD like shooting two 0.22 cal pistols from each hand while jumping off a table sideways... my shoulder hurt for like 3 weeks =P)

Hey, Trixx, I am going to take your experience at face value and ask, because I am really curious, in your estimation, what would be some fun things to do in NS2 with regards to a Marine's ranged combat? I've always thought a bit of acrobatics (parkour/free running/gun fu) would be fun to do/watch in NS2 ranged combat as an improved look on the fast pace of combat in NS1.
While IRL, holding your pistol sideways is a "noob" move, in a game, might it just be fun to look at? Perhaps it could be a simple question of modding it in, such that it is just a look one could toggle and had no real impact on the gameplay itself such as aim, recoil, cone of fire, etc.

You'd need a gamepad for that =P For eg. Jedi Academy is a marvelous game regarding the movent of characters and acrobatic stunts, but this requires third person view. There has been a lot of talk about this specific feature and I dont think the devs will change the marines' view mode (as opposed to Kharaa, where TPV is a MUST for NS2^^) All in all, I dont think the rines need stunt movements. They are soldiers, not an F rated action movie's macho hero xD What I'd love in NS2: - peeking - fine-tuned cone of fire - jump-pack (lets you jump high vertically, but not horizontally) - pistols in either hand =] - improved grenade(s) (behaviour, not functionality) - rines being able to see their own foot (just as in Thief, would be fun to see a skulk feeding on your thigh xD)

Dont know whether its sarcasm... Anyway Id like to see NS2 as a "realistic" game. How can a sci-fi be realistic when a bunch of humans are constantly teleported on dishes to fight the horde of aliens made of bacteria? Hell, that's the devs' job xD But teaching the marines how to back-flip sure wont help killing the Kharaa....

sometimes i think that there is nothing cooler than a marine doing a flip over a res tower and shooting a gorge with two pistols while he is upside down and air born lol
