Super Smash Brothers Brawl
<div class="IPBDescription">Who's gettin' it?</div>Smash is the best party title from Nintendo, so I'm pretty damn stoked about it releasing tonight (Sorry Europe). Who's got it on reserve and is going to the midnight release? Who's going to participate in the tournament? I kinda feel like just getting out of there to play the game since I'm not liking the tournament's settings too much. What control style are you guys going to pursue? I'm thinking of trying the Classic Controller since my 'Cube controller is pretty man handled.
It's the only fighting game where I can actually stand a chance and I'm not much of a push over (In Melee anyway). Anyone want to play?

LAX... and that's damn pricey. But you could import a US copy, and get the Freeloader like Align said. No clue if Nintendo would break it with the next Console Update though.
Uh huh. Same boat here, only planning to go with Olimar instead. (Pikmin was fun, what can I say?)
There's no midnight release near me though, so I'll be waiting until noon (*shakes fist*) to get my copy.
Meh, it will get here soon enough.
(side note, 'midnight' == 11:15, if it was actually at midnight I would have missed my bus)

I, too, am having trouble playing online. I get to choose my character and a map and beat the sandbag for a while before it cuts out. Annoying.
Bleh, same problem Shzar. Having a swell time spectating though.
This match making is BS. It takes forever, you can't even browse for available matches. If I'm not wrong, it will only matches people that choose the same maps, yes? Taking damn eternity, and then you're face with error 85010. Gahh, why can't Nintendo make it at least as good as Steam/Gamespy? There are better match making system ten years ago for Christ sake.

actually once you start one of the modes it's already searching for anyone to join you, then it just counts the map selections people make as votes for which one to play in. i've only gotten a few matches working too, big bummer. smashboards is getting hammered tonight too -_-

Phew, great. It's not clear in the game that it's a vote.
I'm working best with Ike and Snake.
I've unlocked all the characters and stages, built levels and all that. It was swell, then I tried playing online...
It's SO damn awful, controls take a good half-second to input to the character. What the hell Nintendo? And I was facing someone who was a 5 minute drive away.
Three "Team Multi-Man Brawls", two failures and one near-failure because every single smart bomb he grabbed was immediately flung in my direction. Admittedly, there <i>were</i> alloys there, but still...
Otherwise, been doing a lot of spectate mode since I can't seem to connect to anyone with the "With Anyone" option. Entertaining, plus I won 760 coins off a 100-coin bet once. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
C'mon... come out in Australia already. It's half the reason I bought a Wii.
