Those tanks look like a low poly Battlefield 1942 panzer 4 model... Not saying it couldn't work with the cartoon look though

From that ss it looks like a distinct artstyle. The outdoor leafy environments add a lot more than I would have thought. I guess it's just the concept art that looks like TF2 to me.

I no longer think it resembles TF2, it just looks stale. Not that is easy to judge from pictures but they all seem to walk awkward and unnatural.

Looks like a really cool and fun game. I'd agree that they look as though they'd walk awkward - the stiff back with an upright posture gives that away. Hopefully they change it so that the motions look a bit more natural.

The art style seems blockier than TF2, which looks to focus more on fluidity and heavy caricature. They're both as different as two different cartoon styles can get in a video game.

Hey man, not cool. Some of my best friends are Romanian. What do you have against Romania? Are you saying they don't know how to work computers or something? Or that British people are better than Romanians? Does Britain deserve more money than Romania?

So this game is basically WW2 in toon/toy form...

Thanks for the insight.

The characters seem dead, that doesn't go with the cartoon setting. It's still going to be free so it's all good.

I'm saying that closing an ENTIRE office of people without saying why, and then those employees later finding out why it was, is a horrible way to treat your employees. If a company really wanted to outsource, it could at least announce the timetable to the employees in advance so they have time to secure new employment in time for the closure, so they don't spend money that they don't know they don't have, so they don't make plans they later have to cancel... generally, so they're not treated like human beings, not like expendable business tools.

I don't have anything against Romanians, I have everything against how EA are rumoured to have dealt with the situation. If what I've heard is true, many dedicated employees -who had been given every reason to feel secure in their jobs following consecutive contract renewals and good performance reports- have simply been axed because labour is cheaper in Romania. This makes good business sense, especially when you consider the strength of the pound versus the Euro and the higher cost of living and property prices in the UK, but it doesn't do much in terms of damage limitation on the already tarnished name that is Electronic Arts.

Except that they fixed all that stuff. Unless you think that they'd purposefully leave themselves open to another $14.9 million lawsuit.

Ok so:

BF2 = BF1 with M4 carbines

BF2142 = BF2 with blue muzzle flash

BFH = BF2 with cell shading & simple textures

All these rehashed games getting announced, developed and released before we see any NS2 in-game media is an e-injustice.

I hope that was a joke.

BF1942: Revolutionary WW2 multiplayer game.
BF: Vietnam: Quick, cheap sequel to BF1942 set in Vietnam.
BF2: Revolutionary innovation for the franchise set slightly in the future, way different than BF1942 and BF:V.
BF2142: Quick, cheap sequel to BF2 set in teh futoor.
BFH: Completely new, different casual game with new graphics, gameplay, objectives, and price.

I've played both to death and I must agree.

For all the crap that EA cop, they can churn out a decent game. 2142 was a lot of fun and balanced twitch and tactics very well.

2142 is alright.... the vehicles are are so dumbed down though. The airplane thing takes no skill to fly, it's worse then the banshee in halo. And who's idea was it to make the support machine-gun become MORE accurate as it fires?

Really, I basically quit playing the game normally and just used knife + cloaking device. Guns are for ######.

That's rather the basis of the problem. "By your third or fourth purchase from us, we'll have made this game actually good!"

BF2 basically became a giant beta on how to do BF2142.

Never really liked the battlefield games. Or any "Realistic" Military shooter for that matter, so I doubt I'll bother with this conveniently-similar-to-TF2 game. Even if it is free, I'd rather play Warsow if I had to play a free game.

He said he never liked the Battlefield series, or, for that matter, any realistic military shooters. So no, he said it was a realistic military shooter.

I believe what he said was "realistic" rather than realistic - the quotation marks are a subtle difference, but they suggest he knows that, while the genre of games seeks to convey a sense of realism through historical battles and weaponry, it is also understood that these games are by no means accurate, true-to-life war simulators.
