So far I've discovered a pair of 12EEEE New Balance crosstrainers and a set of T-Fal.

    *sigh*

    My 'big' gifts are:
a zen 8 GB MP3 player from my mum (my mp3cd player is a crappy Sony that I think is about to give up the ghost again). Nifty feature includes SD slot expandability.

My dad is probably going to send me a Amazon.com gift certificate for books (this is kinda a staple with him, as a couple hundred $ worth of books make me happy). I say probably b/c he hasn't woken up and emailed me yet (he told me last night to check my email this morning <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

Now, those are great and make me happy, however the even more awesome presents?

Home Made Food! From awesome cooks!

My brother and his wife gave me 2 types of candied popcorn (Macadamia Butter Crunch and Chocolate Almond)
They also gave me Bacon Brittle.

    Seriously.

    Bacon Peanut Brittle.

    The stuff is pure win.

My sister in law and her BF gave me:
    Pecan Bacon Brittle.
Seriously, 100% unplanned they decided to make the same stuff my brother and his wife did.

    AND:
    Quick Manhattaned Apples!
<a href="http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/09/magazine/09ediblecocktail.html" target="_blank">NY Times</a> article on the idea. Watch the video.

    Basic idea:
    Mix a cocktail.
    Take a piece of fruit/veg.
    place fruit/veg in cocktail.
    Place into vacuum machine.
    Turn on.

So, the Vacuum will suck the air/watter out of your fruit/veg, and when you turn it off it will absorb the cocktail it was sitting in!

you now have a very potent fruit/veg.

    And they taste awesome <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    They really are.

    The Martinied Cucumbers are also really good <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> (and I don't like Martinis)

The Bacon Brittle is actually relatively easy to make for some one with lots of time on his hands (like say a retired person).

    Just get a candy thermometer and make some <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> <a href="http://www.chow.com/digest/1595" target="_blank">One of the recipes</a>

A dump valve for my Subaru Impreza WRX. Now you can hear me coming when I take my foot off the accelerator as well as when I floor it!

    Does this work like a Jake Brake on a big rig then? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

    Living in England, Euroland- I have no idea what a Jake Brake is <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

An atmospheric dump valve releases pressurised air outside the car (as opposed to having it recirculate around the engine) when you take your foot off the throttle. I don't know if America televises the World Rally Championship, but it's what makes rally cars produce the <i>snap-hiss</i> sound.

So far as I know there's no performance gain- it's just an ego booster!

well I got a wii, omg awesome. I just need to go out and get lots of games tomorrow.

Chocolate, books, squash balls for when I play at school, and that's all folks.

The wii sports games aren't all that fun on their own so I'm really just waiting for some mario galaxy.

Also for people like liku who are wondering how my loving family got me a wii - my sisters knows a guy who works at futureshop so she got him to buy one of the wiis the store was shipped (there was on 17 of them) and then got it off him after. Pretty awesome!

Metroid Prime 3, Mass Effect and one of those awesome Russian-style winter-caps (BUT, it has Headphones integrated into the ear flaps. So cool.). From my folks.

My mom bought me an ASUS EeePC and a 2gb stick of RAM to go with it.

    Not a bad haul. Unexpected.

    Battalion Wars for Wii
Some books (including Name of the Wind; props to Tycho for the suggestion)
Bunch of clothing, including a nice pair of dress shoes.
    Some smoked salmon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
My very own copy of Pan's Labyrinth.
    A 4-gig USB key.
A couple books of piano music.
A harmonica. And this odd Mexican transverse flute.

My brother bought be the Orange Box for PC, but he didn't know I already had it. This was after he took back Super Mario Galaxy which I already had. Poor guy. But I appreciate the thought.

A very pleasant Christmas this year. Everyone had a good time, and it's even snowing now! Freaky.

It's custom built, a friend of my dad's put it together.

It's got an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+, along with an 8800 GTX. It's really cool, I'm well chuffed!
