WHY DOES EVERYONE CALL THE PS1 THE PSX?!?!?! X MEANS 10......

Anyway, i think the gamecube version of MGS1 is much better, since they improved alot of things and added several things aswell.

I think it ruined an amazingly good story line, and was pointless to add to the story.

Ah well, even MGS4 has it... It'll still be good though.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    All the MGS's had that....

I played through the tanker half of MGS2 and then fizzled out. there were like 2 characters in it - where did all these others come from? I recognize exactly 1 person in this photoshop I stoled from a TF2 photoshop thread:

    <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v411/spi/ps/metal-fortress.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /><!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I recognize a good 3 or 4 people.... And please tell me that the person you recognize is gray fox, cause if it's than you don't deserve to be in this thread.

And in MGS4 i really hope Screaming mantis and all the other major baddies relate to there formers from the past games.... that would be so kick ass.

And in that TF2 Picture, it's odd, it doesn't show Revolver Ocelot.

Firstly wow triple post for the lose.

Secondly PSX is officially not the console PS One.

PS One Wiki where the first paragraph states several names: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation" target="_blank">Link</a>

    PSX Wiki page: <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSX_(DVR)" target="_blank">Link</a>

PSX <b>is not </b>based on the Roman Numeral system from what I can tell and it's also based off the PS2 not PS1.

EDIT: Forgot to state the PSX console seems to only apply to Japan. Everyone else probably just adopted it for the ease of typing on a keyboard, S being just above X on a QWERTY.

What's so hard about typing PS1? it's jsut one more key stroke... are we really that lazy?

Hell, even PS would suite it considering that's what it was called.

PSX predates the PS2, and it's simply a reflex. Shut up and stop being dumb.

The name 'PSX' predates to the PS1 era yes, but the console itself doesn't as it wasn't released in to Japan until December 2003.

I see Waffles point, actually I don't. But it's nothing major for him to scream about nor start calling names over in all seriousness. Could be why you're a restricted member Testament.

Waffles is consistently stupid and deserves no quarter.

I actually always referred the PlayStation "One" as the PSX up until they released those PSOne Slimafugingalers. It's also noted on the PSX (DVR) Wiki that was linked here that it(the PlayStation) was internally known as PlayStation Experimental after the contract with Nintendo fell through.

Although I don't know if that's true or not as it doesn't have a reference, but I know everyone that I knew called it the PSX.
