By old I mean older then 1960.
Mine are Casablanca and a few Laurel and Hardy movies !
Lately, I've been wanting to see that first "Night of the living dead" one and "Plan-9 from Outer Space". Just for fun !

When did The Great Race come out?
Casablanca
Dumbo
North by Northwest
Nosferatu
Seven Samurai
Singin' in the Rain
My brother always prefer old films, preferably black and white. For me it's only the occasional old movie that interests me.
Great movie, extremely funny. You might want to cut the last 3-4 minutes when Chaplin holds his speech. But the rest of it is just fantastic.
It's even available on DVD.

<i>The Thing From Another World</i> (1951)
<i>The Day the Earth Stood Still</i> (1951)
<i>元禄忠臣蔵</i> a.k.a. <i>Genroku Chûshingura</i> a.k.a. <i>The 47 Ronin</i> (1941) (It's a bit slow, but for some reason, I like it.)
As you can see, I like the old B sci-fi movies, except Plan 9, I just like laughing at it...
Plus it's almost the oldest movie mentioned in this thread (1930) <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> .
Might as well throw in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017136/" target="_blank">Metropolis</a> and <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0020697/" target="_blank">der blaue Engel</a> (the blue angel).
<a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052618/" target="_blank">Ben-Hur</a> almost misses that 1960 cut-off; kind of like an old Gladiator, except it's in the Circus Maximus instead of the Colosseum...among other things.
Bambi
Lady and the Tramp
Cinderealla
Citizen Kane
I want to say Where Eagles Dare, but it's 1968.
12 Angry Men.
Dr Strangelove.
Spartacus.
Rear Window.
Mutiny on the Bounty ( 1930s version with Charles Laughton and Clarke Gable )
North by Northwest.
Casablanca
Citizen Kane
The Wizard of Oz
Metropolis.
The day of the Triffids.
The invasion of the body snatchers.
The day the earth stood still
Forbidden Planet.
Various Ed Wood crap like Plan 9 etc. are a must see.
There's an old movie staring Frank Sinatra who plays a jazz trumpeter who ends up addicted to Heroine.. I can't remember this movie's name.. please remind me if you know it. I'm 90% sure it was Frank Sinatra. I think it's called "Man with the golden arm" or something.

No... you can't even laugh at Plan 9, it's just awful a complete waste of time.
You seemed to have hit that movie spot on:

I still say that The Beast of Yucca Flats is worse than Plan 9. It's just..... boring. Barely anything happens, and thes tuff that does doesn't make sense. And I'm sure there was no sound equipment with the camera, since you only ever hear someone speak if they cover their mouth (literally) or they're off screen.
Also, Day of The Triffids = <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />
A few years ago my dad got me a collection of black and white old sci fi movies. Most were crappy but they had a few really awesome ones. Would be cool to see them remade with today's technology, but I fear they wouldn't be done justice.
The Third Man
And various Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton classics.
Except for puzl. He always has to post at least a dozen blablas.
Posting lots of blablas doesnt make you special. It just shows that you have trouble telling singular from plural.
But puzl is Irish and considering that the Irish have more drunks per capita than people he is somewhat excused.
p.s. Thanks for reminding me of citizen kaine. I really need to watch that move again. Same for Logans run <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
What I really like about the: "Post your favorite blabla" threads is that almost no one is able to post his one favorite blabla. Everyone names 3 or 4 blablas.

Well, if you want my favorite movie, that's the first one I listed, Animal Crackers; but generally people like other Marx Brothers' movies more, and it's only right to bring awareness to some of those good old movies. Now, you might think that the Marx Brothers sound really old, but much of the comedy is still transferablee to today, and I recommend seeing one or two of them (I'm not a fan of the musical interlude that happens in every movie, but that's what fast foward is for)...it's bit better in Animal Crackers, because during one of the 'music parts' you've still got jokes.
Plus it's got the historical "In the morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas...how he got in my pajamas, I dunno."
I wasn't even born in 1960. How the hell would I have watched any movies back then?

Time ambulation.
But if we're also talking "not quite so old" then I'd also say Stalag 17 and Dr. Strangelove OR How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.
Man you guys, these aren't old movies. <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0017136/" target="_blank">Metropolis</a> is an old movie.

(puzl had it as well)
But if you're going with crazy expressionist German films of the Weimar republic, you might as well throw in <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0010323/" target="_blank">das Cabinet des Dr. Caligaris</a> (The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) (1920) and der blaue Engel (1930) has Marlene Dietrich and she's generally famous even in the US. You might as well start breaking out the 50's WW2 movies if you want to include Dr. Strangelove...then you can add <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0057115/" target="_blank">The Great Escape</a> (1963).
I'm surprised there's no <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0024216/" target="_blank">King Kong</a> love in here...
But before 1960, gotta be <a href="http://imdb.com/title/tt0015841/" target="_blank">The Freshman</a>. Harold Lloyd was a genius. Sorry I picked two, but these are both top-quality movies (that haven't been listed yet. Cabinet Caligari's was amazing, for its time.)
