<div class="IPBDescription">(related to WoW and the Warcraft universe)</div>Just saw the re-enactment of the cinematic of <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=luuUE0x7-TY" target="_blank">Grom Hellscream's Redemption</a> in the World of Warcraft. I don't think I've shivered in delight as much as I did just now - the entire thing had the cinematic's voiceovers matched with the game's text, as well.

Yes it's cool to continually bash a game which is clearly making more money for Blizzard than any other game company at the moment and continually winning awards, because that too makes you look cool being a mindless sheep going with other "cool" people's opinion.

Well, considering it has a couple million players or whatever, I think cheering for it or bashing it could both be considered 'going with the flow' or 'blending in with the sheep' or '[Another euphemism to mean copying what a crowd is doing]'. Technically, nowadays, WoW looks like crap. You can't deny it, it was made years ago and it was decent for when it was made (I specifically remember posts on this forum saying "wow, that looks beautiful!"...and also people in the same thread bashing it then); but games do not age well graphically anymore.
Then again, anyone who plays a game simply because it lacks graphical prowess is probably an idiot, and should be avoided. That said, I'm still not sure why everyone is so enamored with WoW...but what I hate even more is when a new MMORPG comes out and everyone shouts "dude, they totally ripped off WoW" as if WoW never stole anything (especially the Everquest userbase - ba-zing!). Like "the health, mana and fatigue bars are right next to eachother, that's totally a ripoff and not a logical design decision."
I will say, as part of an aside, that the game is probably more popular with females (sort of like how the Sims (2) works), because it doesn't have hyper-realistic graphics and blood shooting out of everything you kill. That is just one of my minor conjectures (I'm (...but not really...)sure one of the 4 female gamers in the world said "THIS GAME NEEDS MORE BLOOD!" at some point...).
Come on, World of Warcraft doesn't even have <i>shadows</i>. It's just a circular blob under the character (or an oval blob under the horse). It might have amazing art direction but the engine's a clunker.

I could care less about the look in games.
I just hate RPGs because it takes so long to level and whatever. Hours of slashing at stupid AI monsters just for the chance to grab some epic loot or whatever...
