Of course I'm not serious, but imagining NS2 on the CryEngine 2 makes me do unspeakable acts.

And if.. i think UT 3 engine would be better for this..
BUT OMG!
First get the source one running.. every day i must wait for this is .. AUAAH!
What is that like 1 fps at 800x600 with a liquid-nitrogen overclocked system?
No thank you, but damn does it make nice still shots. If that truely is rendered and not just a photograph.
CryEngine 2 is nice <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" /> But it's all singleplayer if I'm not mistaken
Consider the amount of money UWE currently has available. Consider that good engine licenses start at about $250k and go rapidly upwards. Possible? I think not.
Frankly, ive been playing games for a long time and ive come to the point where graphics rarely is the driving force for playing any game. If it were, i wouldnt be bored to tears at the moment. Games like NS(2) are the ones that still keep my interest in games. To me, Crysis is just another uber graphics update to a game thats already been done dozen times. In other words, its a bad*** tech demo with some weak buggy multiplayer for 16 players in awesome game modes like deathmatch or something equally original.
Wait a minute, what was the topic again? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />
Oh yea, SOURCE ROCKS!
Holy crap! You mean that jungle picture is rendered?!?! Look at all the leaves! Look at the bloody texturing! Crikey those must be massive texture files.

You never heard of this game? Those shots are in game rendered and probably either running on a 7900/1900 or a 8800 depending when they where released. Go look at some of the latest videos.
This game does look promising even gameplay wise it looks fun. It will have multi player which, Iv read will have a max of 32 players. Ill be buying this game regardless for the graphics and the sandbox map editor.
At least the special effects would rival the movie!
8 humans, 1 predator and they have to GET TO THE CHOPPA!
I wish directx10 wasn't exclusive to vista.
The crytech team is pretty awesome.
Watch the HD videos.
Source Engine can do just about everything CryEngine can do and then some. The difference is CryEngine is SO much more beautiful because they don't need the awsome little tidbits Source does- after all, you don't have Antlion Guards or Striders with BlackHoleCannons in FarCry <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

CryEngine2, though, is far more advanced than Source. Way ahead. Eons.
And Epidemic, those aren't renders. Those are real time, from an early (way early) build no less. CyrEngine2 looks even better right now.
I think Source is a really good choice for NS2, or else I would go with UE3...
holy crap - i hope someone uses that engine to make a predator game <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

YES
Don't go switching between engines please, the folks at DNF did that one too many times too.
It blows every other editor out of the water, of course supported by its very impressive engine.
It's this sort of advancement in game authoring technology that makes me think all games might be made with the same engine in the future - I mean, once you get editors as easy to use and an engine that looks as nice as that, why would you want to build a new engine to achieve the same effects?
I really wish I owned the rights to use this engine for my own purposes - it's exactly what I'm looking for to make a certain game I've been itching to make for a while.
And don't worry, we won't be switching engines. NS2 is for Source!
What's doubley appealing about the Crytech2 engine is it's editor: <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_9HcdsET70" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_9HcdsET70</a>

I saw the video of that editor a while back and loved it. However, it is pretty much only useful for (and designed for) outdoor maps like in crysis and isn't really comparable to other map creating programs. Indoor levels would have to be entirely made in other 3d modeling software. Still, really cool middleware.
