I really miss the indestructable heavy trains... onos = game over... dedicated gorge res hording... 1,000,000 range seige cannons... THE OLD NS_NOTHING... it is fun to reminiss. That said I am betting we would all puke if we played it again, ns really has gotten so much better.

I've seen this conversation a thousand times, the whole 1.04 thing. It still kind of makes me laugh inside.

    Represent yo. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

Flipping the switch, waiting for ten agonizing seconds only to be murdered by the wall of lame on the other side?

Damn right. Keep away from the rotating door, or get some sieges up.

I used to put 8 OCs on the elevator of the very same map while the marines were busy somewhere else away from base.

Then push the elevator button and /say "The pizza delivery guy is in the elevator coming up"

    Priceless.

1.03 (might have been 1.02), and still around from time to time.

    I'm here.

Man, I miss the long three hour stalemates. Rounds that you could start before school, and finish after school... *Happy sigh* And games that went way into the night. I really got immersed back then... it felt like a struggle, not a game.

Wait, when did they take out the rotating door? NOOO!!!

Or the hive you could siege from marine start. That was a real laugher.

Been there since the "nuke" icon...

Still have good memories of 1.04.
    Still playing.
    Still love silence.

But still, we need more official maps IMO.

I was playing back in 1.02, though that wasn't for long as 1.03 and 04 came soon after i began. Can't claim to know ANYTHING whatsoever about it as i played very casually, but i do remember babblers and the bugged / working as intended Fade.

Only reason you could siege that hive from marine start was that the siege range was increased in 1.04, and the map source was lost in a HDD crash.

All about building DCs on the edge of the big elevator near marine start, trapping the elevator up so they had to climb down and be Lerkbait with the needlegun, or risk the rotating door. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

Ahhh the days you used to fly a lerk like you swing a frisbee!
I still remember the old bast nooks above refinery, 3 dcs and lerk... Pointy death
Or the mech-fade with super long range missiles and super bugged hitbox. Gawd
    The struggles for holoroom!
Base pg rushes, 300000+ skulks coming out the pg

And slower pace throughout the game... Man that was relaxing AND kept you on your toes. Like an alien movie before making contact with hostiles

    Started with 1.0 here <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> 1.04 was defo the best version i played primarily for longer games.

Oh man i still hate flayra for making it impossible to stack chambers.

In 1.04 it was so nice to hide in OC inside the upper part of an RT ^^
The OC was nearly undestroyable as long the RT was there ^^ (Elec for Alines <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />)

Also the Res System for Gorges was much better. Nowadays its nearly impossible to be gorge the hole round, the Res income sucks hard especially because you dont get much Res from RFK. Placing 1 Chamber every 2 Minutes is not really good or fun.

And i also Remember well the blocking of the Elevators @ nothing. It was so nice with blocking the 3 elevators you secured 2 Hives ^^

And dont forget the AWESOME Lerk Spikes !!!!!!!!!! It was so fun to sit in a vent and snipe out Rines, PG´s and TF´s

    And, unfortunately, a little unbalanced <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> I was playing on a lerk spike server, and the lerks were like...t3h uber. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":0" border="0" alt="wow.gif" />

In the end, I think bite was better.

I love the 1.0x versions. In fact, in remembrance I've been using [1.03] as my tag since the release of 2.0, just so people would know my roots and respect the elder version.

I enjoy playing both 1.0x style games as well as the new type. In fact, if it wouldn't split the community more, I'd like to see classic, 2.0, and combat broken into separate gametypes. Imagine 1.04 with all the bugfixes and cosmetic updates of 3.1. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":0" border="0" alt="wow.gif" />
