brand new and hot :)
after testing about 1 week i can give beta 4 of ns_stargate-sg1 to the public smile-fix.gif

thanks to all player from the "the alien breeder" server for testing and helping me to finde the right balancing. im happy to say the next version will be the final one, then my last hl1 map will be done wink-fix.gif

    Try to use some more textures in these "one texture rooms" and add some pillars or something there, for one thing it would intersect these huge rooms, giving aliens a chance, otherwise it would break up that impossible architecture feeling.

    details may change gameplay majorly, its simply not possible to let it out completly for playtesting!

    either way it looks nice keep up the good work

    i'm personnaly a huge stargate fan and can't wait to try it out

    looks like it will be pretty fast gameplay with all the nodes.

    Is this an excuse to have ugly maps? It sure does sound like it to me.

    but the final beta including all details only avaliable for betatesting on "the alien breeder" ns server. i do not release it for public, i cant release 10 maps (with view small changes) in 2 weeks, nobody want all 3 days a new map wink-fix.gif and im sure no serveradmin want this too.

    the beta 4 maplayout is the 1st version for rines and the commander to try multible strategys to win. for beta 1 to 3 it was a boring game for rines, the are sitting ducks or rush at the round start. sometimes a later heavy amor rush can be sucessfull but not always tounge.gif

    this map screams "PLAY ME SO THAT I MAY CRASH YOUR SERVER WITH FARMING AND SPAM!"

    seriously, theres nothing good about this map, its just a series of huge rooms with few textures and no detail. theres also no cover for aliens, so marines pretty much automatically win because they can pistol snipe from across the map.

    also the previous versions were horrid because everything in the map was giant. making it a nightmare for anyone to do anything.

    It looked so gross that we decided to never ever do this again.

    It's a "fun map," ace.

    It's like those seige maps where eveything is a big grey room - it's not supposed to be some professional looking map.

    It must be something about having Sonic in your avatar because you and that other guy complain a lot, almost as much as myself.

    That's a much better Stargate than that SG-1 HL Mod. The portal looks accurate. Makes me think of when they plan to make a Stargate game, been on the waiting list for what 5 years or so now?

    FFS! THAT WAS THE ONLY THING I HAD GOING IN THIS COMMUNITY! AND THEY ROBBED ME OF IT. JIMMEH PLEASE DONT TAKE ME AWAY FROM IT!!! I CAN BE THE DRIVER HE CAN BE A PASSENGER!!!!

    Back on topic now, beef it up a bit. It could be a nice 'fun' map, the idea is good and there just add some more interesting architecture!

    w_polys are really not wasted, since the chevron ring actually moves, and with a little entity work, you can make it dial like a real gate.
