Catalyst 5.7's...

<div class="IPBDescription">What the hell?</div> Are these beta drivers or do they just suck. 5.6's work fine for me but alot of the performance increases on 5.7 are tempting, I get artifacting and texture loss/errors constantly on 5.7's. Yet 5.6 and under I get NO problems. Anyone else have this with the newest catalysts?

    Im using a default set of 5.7's with no catalyst control center+ati tray tools on my X700. So far np at all. These drivers gave me 200 more points in 3dmark03 compared to 5.6.

    They make my 9800pro overheat - the number of times VPU recover kicked in during a half-hour bit of Generals was silly, so I went back to older drivers.

    No, they just suck. I can't even start windows after I install them. Half-life 2 kept telling me I needed to install them but when I did, BAM! Windows no loady.

    Thank god for system restore and safe mode is all I can say. If linux came with that, i'd be sold.

    I did notice some graphical glitches with Fast Write on, though I normally disable it anyway due to the heavy performance hit it generates.
