[req] High-poly Lmg/hmg/shotgun/gl (maybe)

***WILL PAY MONEY FOR THIS***
I need a high-poly LMG/HMG/Shotgun and perhaps a GL if you want. I will pay up to $10-$15 (negotiable) if I can get all of this (assuming they're all good and what not) within a few days. Keep them as original to the real thing as possible (minor deviations are fine, but check with me if unsure), but high-poly/high-detail as much as possible. I don't intend to keep these models private or anything, I'm just hoping the pricetag will encourage someone to make them quick, as I need them quickly for a project (plus the NS community could use a high-poly set of all the weapons).

Just the models or the whole shebang - UV mapped, skinned? I guess the animations are already in place, though.

The whole shebang. I want to be able to take whatever is provided to me, drop it in my NS folder, open up a map, and look in awe at high-poly/high-res goodness.

    I already have a pistol: http://www.nsarmslab.com/flash/fileinfo.php?id=387

    http://www.nsarmslab.com/details/images/highpolypistol.jpg

All of the high-poly LMGs I have seen I have determined do not meet my requirements.

The pistol doesn't have p&w models and it is black. Doesn't really fit the green TSA theme.

It looks good in game and that's what counts. The other types of models would be nice, but all I need are the ones you see in first-person view (whatever those are called).

15$ for one model? youre nuts..seriously... i would take 15$ if i would sell it to a wider range of customers.... so when i have sold 10 of them im ok...
the worktime on one model with skins and animations is way more worth than 15....

if you have seen custom made 3d models going away for 150- 6000$ (anatomicly correct skeleton if i remember right) once, you would judge the effort a bit different.

i would do one for 100... thats worth the time..even a present...or stop beeing laughable just to make someone to do it, and ask for a favor. (including the words "please" and "thanks" some peoples think when they offer money they dont have to say "please" anymore )

for those 2 words some peoples would waste their time for you, and it would be even for free, because theese tiny little "magical" words "please" and "thanks" are expressing respect....

we have some brilliant and really talented peoples here, with high potential, but a offer like yours is not really adequate, for the time and effort they would spent for that. you show a very strange and wrong way of appreciation for all the work that ever "was,is,will" be done here for free.

..i want to state this right again for the ones wich are already in rage or something, and suddenly forgot how to read a sentence right.

you want to pay for high quality work? (high-poly/high-detail as much as possible/in shortest time possible) right?

if you really "want to pay" for high quality work, you really "have to pay" high quality work

i could make you an offer... but taking money for those models wouldnd be really legitimate. you cant really tell anymore if the work was payd, or for the model itself ; copyright stuff..theft of intellectual property.. uhm..and other possible stuff that could "happen"

well gotta admit i agree on the LMG thingy, there was 1 flaw with it, on the magazine those bars that ran along it weren't the same length, and well that sort of kept bothered me. but that's just me really :S a fine model + skin otherwise.

Got your model rejected by Jmms?

But seriously, Jmms, you're asking a lot from one person or even a group of people, and 10-15 (negotiable) USD simply isn't enough if you want it to be done at your exact specifications and at a deadline.
  • Jmmsbnd007Jmmsbnd007 Join Date: 2002-11-24 Member: 9793Banned, Constellation
I understand that $15 is kind of small for custom work. What I'm trying to do here is maybe convince Joe Modeller who has some high-poly models that he's working on but never really got around to finishing to hurry up and release them. I don't want to keep them personal or anything, it's more of a "throw money at it so people can get it sooner" type of deal. Obviously, I'm not expecting full-blown models for this price. I'm just hoping somebody out there would be willing to release more high-poly models for the community.
  • Rapier7Rapier7 Join Date: 2004-02-05 Member: 26108Members
Tell you what, I'll make a high poly LMG model. If anybody wants to rig and skin it, they'll be welcome to it.

If that gets done, I might consider doing the shotgun and HMG.

-.- if you havent realised this already, its a community, everything people do here is totally free. Ever so sorry if it doesnt meet your 'expectations' but seriously what do you expect for a FREE custom model? a mona lisa equilavent? I didnt think so.

Christ, guys, jump down his throat because he really wants something. Sure, his "presentation" might have been tactless to some of you, but the fact that he'll even consider paying should be good enough for you guys.

He doesn't want to hoard it all to himself, he just wants high-poly quality remakes of the original NS weapons. Sure, you guys might get offended if he'll pay a pittance so that everybody can download it, but you're right: it is a community and one thing that communities do is listen and respect each other. I would expect that "15 bucks? Nah, just keep your money" would be the order of the day instead of being offended that your work is "only" being offered 15 bucks.

So if you don't want to do it, don't do it. If you want to do it, more power to you. I'll do the LMG, it's going good so far, if Jmms likes it and I can find a skinner/rigger, then we're 1/3 our way to completing a pretty good project, aren't we?

Jmms, if you had seriously wanted something this bad, I'd do it (assuming I can make a good job of it) for free just because it isn't about "I'm paying you for your work" rather it's more like "I want to give incentive for you to work".

Besides, think of it this way:

None of you are pros. Even Sheena isn't, because I don't think he's being paid for his work. What defines a pro is that you're being paid to do something, no matter how small.

All I want is some high-poly models for the community to use, and for myself to use for a project that I'm working on.

Well lets see, you have the pistol which is good but you dont want redds LMG model. Can i please ask why? It is pretty much the LMG doesnt look like anything else IMO and looks very good in game. Some of the skins deviate from the original but if you do not like it then i guess we cant accomodate you there.
Udder did the shotty Aggggggeeesss ago but never finished or people didnt like it, started being annoying or something i really cant remember..

Other high-poly stuff includes the HPA which so far hasnt been done because i feel i buggered up the model/people werent happy with my vision of it/skins werent finished..

So anyway ill agree with some people and say take the 15, its small but your getting moneh. Ill agree with others and say that this is a community, just say please and im sure that the modellers here will try their best to get on it and get it finished. One of the problems i think that we have is that people just dont want to skin or to skin mesh/dont want to learn and so the modellers can get the entire model finished but it never moves on..

The only thing that ive ever had contact with that was released was the nokia hand grenade :O (Someone said that NSA has everything ever released, your wrong because they dont got mah nade )

no <3 for sheena Rapier? shame on you.

How are you saying your not trying to be offensive if you are saying "quality" in italic, which is blatently showing you think redds models are ****. Redd has started an HP shotgun too, but not too sure now whether we should release to some... parties like yourself.

    Whats next, copyrighting?
Whats that supposed to mean? Almost everything is copyrighted if you create it by yourself, assuming its original.
Example; a picture of a tree, or a 3D model, is automatically copyrighted.
Just wanted to point that out.

Actually, spinviper, you're wrong there. Well, assuming you're talking about american laws, anyway. In America, just about anything you can create is automatically covered under copyright. You can apply for a copyright on something you've created, but it's automatically there whether you apply for one specifically or not. The only thing american courts care about is whether you can prove you created something before the guy that stole it from you did. If you, say, write a piece of music, you could put a copy of it in an envelope and mail it to yourself. The USPS date stamp on a sealed envelope is sufficent proof in court that you created it first.
