Or MAYBE the sheep realisied that their spirits were actually lemmings and wanted to
get closed to their "inner self" and just hurled themselfs of a cliff!

    GENIUS!

I couldn't help but think of Bible references to this, but I will keep that to myself.

What I want to know is why people were standing around watching the sheep jump off the cliff instead of trying to stop them? If I read that right, it says the owners "helplessly stood by and watched" them just go off the cliff.

    WTH!?

Good thing gorges are a little smarter than that.... wait, I have seen mass suicides in natural selection as well.

Better than trying to get in the way and either being flattened or pushed off the cliff themselves.

This really is a tragedy though - those sheep were quite possibly the main source of income for all 26 families - losing them is like losing a vital job. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

That being said, that is too bad for the families that are out quite a bit of income because the sheep had to play monkey-see money-do.

"If your sheepie friend jumped off that cliff, would you?" Perhaps peer pressure played a role?

Well it only needs one of them sheeps to be suicidel. And if he goes over the edge. The other sheep are facing a dilema... Are we true to our sheepiness, and do if one sheep goes the rest will follow thing. Or do we betray our way of life.

Well in the end we know what they have chosen. Crazy woolen thingies <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Sheeps are also know to be very selfish. That why they do this following thing. They think "hey why is he going there, maybe he found something. Then they try to get there to, to *joink* it away...

If a sheep commits suicide, will it go to heaven?

Wait, this was already covered in another thread. Well, kinda sorta .... ... .. .

One day, mama duck and her 9 ducklings stood on the edge of my bulkhead, approximately 3' above the water level. Mama duck was a bit apprehensive, but finally dove in. She swam about for several minutes waiting for her little ducklings to join her. They refused to jump in. 5 minutes later 1 of the ducklings jumped in, but 8 remained landlocked, obviously petrified. Another 5 minutes passed as mama duck and "black sheep" swam about, coaxing the rest. FINALLY the other 8 took the plunge, single file: plop plop plop plop plop plop plop plop.

Why do you suppose no one followed black sheep in, but they willingly filed his brother/sister? Had to mention this story as the sheep suicide reminded me of it. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
