Thanks Gecko, you brought up quite a few of the points that I've discovered, and even the DDT one(which it turns out DDT did 10x as many good things as the bad that it did, in higher abundance than the bad stuff, and now other chemicals get to poison everyone and everything with no good side effects. At all. Great job!).

Inconclusive, and chances are, just plainly a lie.

If I do forget, if I do not faithfully remember those bleeding children of sorrow this day, "may my right hand forget her cunning, and may my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth!" To forget them, to pass lightly over their wrongs, and to chime in with the popular theme, would be treason most scandalous and shocking, and would make me a reproach before God and the world. My subject, then, fellow-citizens, is American slavery.

I shall see this day and its popular characteristics from the slave's point of view. Standing there identified with the American bondman, making his wrongs mine, I do not hesitate to declare, with all my soul, that the character and conduct of this nation never looked blacker to me than on this 4th of July! Whether we turn to the declarations of the past, or to the professions of the present, the conduct of the nation seems equally hideous and revolting. America.is false to the past, false to the present, and solemnly binds herself to be false to the future. Standing with God and the crushed and bleeding slave on this occasion, I will, in the name of humanity which is outraged, in the name of liberty which is fettered, in the name of the constitution and the Bible which are disregarded and trampled upon, dare to call in question and to denounce, with all the emphasis I can command, everything that serves to perpetuate slavery ‹ the great sin and shame of America! "I will not equivocate; I will not excuse"; I will use the severest language I can command; and yet not one word shall escape me that any man, whose judgment is not blinded by prejudice, or who is not at heart a slaveholder, shall not confess to be right and just.

Why would he lie about living in England? I can see why people wouldn't want others to know their age, but it's not like anyone cares if whether someone's English or African or whatever.

lol Snidely I do live in England. To be exact I live here. (The red circle A.K.A Sheerness).

Quaunaut I hate to say this but you are a typical American. You really believe all the carbon emissions we are making in the world today would occur naturally if we didn't have power plants etc? Dumb to think that, global warming is a larger problem than ever and humans are causing it. Admit it, do something about it.

EDIT: If you full zoom in o the map you will see a rough location of my house. Roughly 50meters wrong.

He never said anything about the amount of carbon emissions being the same either way.

    And, as this graph shows,

global warming is inversely related to the number of pirates in the world.
  • SnidelySnidely Join Date: 2003-02-04 Member: 13098Members
That's because pirates are launching themselves into the Earth's atmosphere and exploding, speeding the whole process up.
  • ThaldarinThaldarin Alonzi! Join Date: 2003-07-15 Member: 18173Members, Constellation
Carbon emissions are what humans have used to cause extra effects on global warming, proving we are a cause of it.

The more pirates that explode, the less of them there are. Look at the chart - number of pirates has decreased to 17, but temperature has gone up.

The end is nigh. When the last pirate soars into the atmosphere and detonates, life as we know it shall come to an end. We will have to eat ice cream every day to stay alive. Those without ice cream will come to envy those with ice cream. Until they die, at any rate. Then they won't be envious, because they'll be dead.

America doesn't suck... the whole god damned world sucks. Humans suck. Oxygen sucks. Why don't you all die?

    "start with yourself kthnxbye"

I know you'd just turn back to your giant tub of fried chicken and continue to watch football/movies and not finish the job. I'd take it into my own hands but some fool made killing others illegal. WTH indeed.

America is "on the top" so everyone just points out our suckness. Guess what... the rest of you suck just as much.

No, it's the first amendment of the United States Constitution at work. I value a logical political statement more than I value jingoistic honor. I, as an American, am not insulted.

If I posted pictures of United States soldiers pulling Saddam's statue down would it be distasteful to you?

Flag burning isn't as distasteful as lynch pictures, but it's clearly provocative. Can't we all just get along?!

As decided by the Supreme Court, in 1989 I believe. It still disgusts me though. And what's even worse is all the NON-Americans trying to rain on our parade, try being the key word.
