Hrm, I found three mountains I used to explore quite frequently as a kid. I also found the place where I broke my tailbone at. Like, I could see the rock for God's sake.

Not fully 3d for me... its not even good resolution. Am I doing something wrong? Only zooming in as far as I can.. erm, do I have to enable something?

In the Layers box, there is a "Buildings" option. In it there are the cities with three dimensional buildings enabled. Not every city has buildings, and the cities with the buildings aren't that great.

This is a nice desktop interface for Google Maps, and offers a lot of enhancements to the satellite option in Google Maps. It has its bugs still (many of the built-in locaters were going to the wrong place on the map), but it does look like it could be great once things are improved.

Whoa... I just looked up the neighborhood where I grew up and found a bunch of memories I wouldn't have ever... er, remembered otherwise. This is awesome. Then I looked up all the places I've lived and watched them go from suburban>urban>**** end of nowhere.

btw, yes the data is old. That area I linked, one of the buildings is not there anymore, getting replace by an entirely different structure. A few other buildings in the area are going up and the building on the NW corner is being renovated right now.
