Pretty amazing to anyone interested in the Watergate story.
I honestly thought his identity would never be reviled but I certainly wasn't expecting it on some random Tuesday afternoon.

Maybe he wanted some money so wrote a book and then revealed himself so that he could sell it? We'll see.

He's 91, dude. He already had a stroke too; he uses a walker and stuff. I don't see a book deal really.
Does anyone know exactly why they choose Deep Throat for his nick name?
I was talking to my mother about this yesterday and she said it was because he had a deep, scratchy voice but I think she just made that up to avoid any unnecessary awkwardness

Deep Throat" was the mysterious nickname given to W. Mark Felt, the F.B.I. official who secretly helped reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the Watergate scandal during the presidency of Richard Nixon. Felt's identity was unknown to the public during the scandal and for more than 30 years afterward. Woodward and Bernstein, who broke the Watergate story for The Washington Post, acknowledged only that their informant was a high-ranking official in the executive branch of government. (Because the source insisted on total anonymity and would only talk on "deep background," he was given the nickname "Deep Throat" by Post senior editor Howard Simons, who borrowed the title from an X-rated movie of the era.)

Wasn't the first x-rated movie, but it was one of them, that is quite interesting.
It was an old score to be paid off, Deep Throat is not a hero in his intentions.
