went to the midnight opening, it ruled, definitely the best of the 'new' trilogy. very well done, I liked the 'retro' feel coupled with the great special effects. Plot was good, fights were awesome. 2.5 hours and it didn't drag for a second. only complaint is that...

Anakin didn't need nearly enough prodding before he turned to the dark side. there was about a 10 minute gap between when he was saying 'executions aren't the Jedi way, even the sith lord deserves a trial' and when he started slaughtering children.
I hereby grant George Lucas full permission to go back and digitally remaster the first two episodes to bring them up to par with episode 3, even if it means ending up with two 30 minute long movies. On no account may he touch or breath on episodes 3 - 6 again, not now or ever!
My biggest complaint about the movie is that FINALLY the magic is back, but its the last in the series! Ahhhhh why must you make me want MORE just when there ISN'T ANY? *thrashes about like a lunatic*
Worst written movie I've seen in ages. Who's flipping idea was it to have Vader shout "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" It was sorta like the Matrix Revolutions in that I'd only watch it again for the battles, and admittedly Anakin vs Obi Wan was awesome. (Not more awesome than Neo vs Smith though) Worth watching, though.

i saw it at the 1:30 showing since i got my tickets late, and i must say, it was amazing. im not a big fan of the first 2, they didnt have the dark atmosphere that the originals had. the 3rd one though did have the dark atmosphere, and i thought it was fantastic. i loved the fights, i loved the way the dark side took over, i loved the way they made anakin look like he does in the 3rd on, i loved the way it all flowed together so well.

i admit that the one thing i didnt like was at the end where vader yells nooooooo, but you have to remember he is not completely overcome with anger, he still has feelings for others in him. he turned to save her, and now shes lost. id yell too, even if i was a master of the dark side.

So like, yeah. Revenge of the Sith is better than Return of the Jedi as far as I'm concerned. I'd put it at about equal with ANH, even.

Meh I liked all the Star Wars movies and I'm pretty sure I'm going to love this one. Since when did Star Wars ever have award winning dialogue? Most Sci-Fi movies don't.
I'm getting a little sick of everyone jumping on the "new Star Wars movies suck" bandwagon. Some of the criticism is downright petty.
Get over yourselves people, Lucas is a genius, and a very wealthy one at that, who has done nothing but bring quality entertainment into our lives. If you can do better please don't hesitate to show us.

I saw it and personally loved episode III, I actually like ep I but did not care much for episode II. Sith puts them both to shame, my only complaints are that there are some extremely cheesy dialogue scenes (vader at end: NOOOOOOO), and alot of retarded one-liners, also; it almost seemed like too much plot for a 246 minute movie, there wasn't really a scene of downtime; just plot after plot after plot

I thought it was amazing compared to Episode I, which wouldn't be too hard, and amazing compared to Episode II, which would be ever-so-slightly more hard. Of course its nothing like the originals, but it was certainly the best effort of the modern trilogy.
I quite honestly couldn't help laughing at some parts, partly due to consumption of beer, partly due to wisecracks from the audience such as "Samuel L don't trust nobody!", and partly due to the often poor script.
General Grievous? What the hell were they smoking? While it made for an interesting few battle scenes, seriously...what the hell were they smoking? I understand he's in the books or something, but how are us non-insane-fans expected to understand exactly what was going on with this. He's a robot with a heart right? I mean I laughed for half the film at the robot with the hacking cough, wondering what the hell was going on.
The "chase" scene prior to Grievous' death was absolutely dire. Less said the better.

The deaths of the Jedi via the Clones was a great part of the film, and good old Yoda managed to escape with some hilarity, as was expected. When he floors the Emperor's guards the entire cinema erupted in laughter; that was the best part of the film.
Samuel L Jackson dies, so its already a negative. I feel shocked at his death.
The most shocking and well-done thing in the entire film would be Anakin/Vader killing the "younglings" (cue more laughter) at the academy or wherever it was. Cue cries of "what a bastard!".
Overall I thought it was an extremely entertaining film, but of course nowhere near what anyone could hope for. Its certainly worth watching, for a sense of...closure...and for entertainment and lots of lightsabres flashing around violently.

And, despite the ever monotonous cries, the dialogue of the movie fit great. I didn't come to see a movie where people say the crap I say everyday. If I wanted that, I'd go make a damn movie. I wanted to be drawn into a whole different world. The movie, and the rest of the series, do this effortlessly. That's why they are so timeless. Even the "new" trilogy have a sense of timelessness about them.

It had some awesome moments, but it had some downright <i>stupid</i> dialogue.
All in all though, it was a pretty big improvement over I and II.
