He gets them delivered 2 days on.

"HE" GOT 2 IPODS!!!!! WOOT!!!! (or WAIIIII as a certain Gemma would say)

2 FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!!!!!!!!
OMG!!!!!

Can "He" keep em? Is that illegal?

Check your invoice, your reciept, all paperwork regarding the order. If they say they only sent you one, only return one... Free Ipod!

I had this happen to me with a 40GB hard drive a couple years back (When 40GB was absurdly huge)

Return one? Why? "He" could sell the other on... hehehe

And i checked all "his" invoices, they only charged "him" for one . Now "his" Bro doesnt need to buy one too, what a lucky git!!!!

    Im so happy

hey... if they don't know, then they don't need to find out.

Same thing happened with my student loan; they paid me twice by accident and never noticed. free £1200 > free ipod :D

"He" is quite lucky, and if I was "him" I would sell it or give it to a friend at a knock down price. "He" shouldn't worry about a mistake they made unless they question it. If they do question it, "he" should say that "he" only received the one Ipod.

Or, "he" could send "me" the extra Ipod, as "I" would love to be the proud new owner of a 30gb "Ipod", it would make "me" extremely "happy" and "I" would "thank you" many "many" many "many" times.

    "Sorted".

Even if they do know, it's their error, and it just depends if you're honest or not.

You could keep it, trading standards calls this sort of error a "gift" (through previous dealings with trading standards over a company sending 2x the amount of RAM they should and they wanted it back), but if they ask for it back with no cost to you, would you?

I'd say it will come down to this--does the seller know he accidently mailed two IPODs to "your friend"? If the seller doesn't complain, by all means keep both. If the seller realizes, "hey, I mailed that guy both of my IPODs instead of just one", and asks "your friend" to return the extra, then technically "he" is probably obligated to return it (charge the shipping to the idiot seller of course).

On the other hand, if "he" simply decides not to return it espite being asked, I'm not sure what the seller can actually do about it. Most likely nothing.

@Gem--same thing happened with my scholarship. An unefficient company offered me a $1000 scholarship, and sent me the check twice. But in their case, they noticed and called us to apologize for their stupidity and ask us to return the extra. Again, I'm not sure what legal recourse they would have had if we'd simply refused, but they deserved the money back, so we returned it.

You should ask him to give you the other one.

    Or am I missing something?

I say return it to be honest, but to get guilt off, you could give it to a friend. I reccomend the first, but the second is good if you're a "Down with Corporations!" kind of a guy.

Your friend should probably hold on to the second one for a month or two. If you, sorry, he isn't contacted by the distributor I'd mark it down as his.

Morals and guilt. Wah. Even if it IS an iPod, free stuff is free stuff. Then again, I've been told I barely pass for a human being. I say sell the other one to a friend (SELL! NO FREEBIES!) and buy something with the cash.
