I once got banned on <server name and IP withheld> because it was a clan server (the <clan name withheld> clan server) and I started a vote to kick a clan member.

Anyways: I got a nice and fresh one. Last monday i was having a few nice games on a co clan server with 0 plugins. Everything went fine till admins showed up. They were real jackasses and it was pretty obvious, that they were using sv_cheats 1. Time for the good old givexp and give weapon_devour (i cant remeber the exact command atm). For those bans I once got banned for shotting recyclked armory while admins ignored that I was ejected in 3 second, ended up that we didnt have comm for 4mins.... and I play on those servers about only.

The only server I ever got kicked from was a WW server. and that was vote kick (unfortunatly for them retry just puts me right back on the server).

I think the only time i ever got banned was on some pub nub server. It was a 4 on 4 and i skulk rushed their base alone, killed all 3 of them and the comm, and chomped the IPs. I said it wouldn't have happened if the comm wasn't out building with them, or if they had 2 IPs, but I got banned anyhow.

This is probably the funniest thing that ever happened to me. My cable internet provider had been performing maintenance for a week, so I was subjected to massive 3 second+ lag spikes that would lock in my last commands for the entire time (i.e.. if I was holding 'w' to move, it acted like I was still holding it). Well, one lag spike happened to hit me when I was lerk and had just released primal and started biting. I took down 6 marines during a 1.5 second lag spike in which I warped. Mind you, I was pubbing that night since the server I regular was empty. Unfortunately, 5 of those marines were admin, including one being the server owner.
I got banned for, something like, 176,666,777 minutes for "Unknown Hacks." Stupid ISP.

In CS...dust2. I was the only T vs. two CT's. I jumped down, headed middle, with an AK. One runs by the doors, and a split second later, the other appears in them. The fun part, is that the recoil moved my aim enough so that the second bullet goes straight through the door, and gets a headshot on the first guy who ran by it. And i was banned for aimbotting.

I've once been accused of aimbotting with a GL as well, way back in the days. Fortunately, the server wasn't entirely admin'ed by cretins and one of them was able to point out to the other the inherent idiocy of the concept of aimbotting with a non hitscan weapon.
I've only been banned once from a server (mostly due to admin nubbishness; once I spoke with the head admin the ban was removed) for an 'unspecified hack.' English translation: I had leap and focus in an early round of combat and chomped my way through 8 marines - who had not gotten A1 - in about 10 seconds.

I mostly get kicked for arguing with ridiculous admin rules which are either imposed on me or somebody else. I can't think of an NS example, but it would be something similar to this CS example I had the other day. Haven't had a ridiculous ban yet, about the worst I can think of was for DoD. My friend got banned on a custom beach map (aaargh can't remember the name!!!) because as an Axis, he promptly camped the beach waters with an MG-42, spraying the Allies as they came up. I kept feeding him ammo as I would use the Kar-98 to try to pick off targets till I died, respawned, gave him more ammo. He had something like a 70+ on 6 ratio... I chalk it up to a combination of good teamwork between us (we were at a LAN cafe so we were right next to each other, easy to yell out orders) and bad map design, as the Allies all spawned right in the middle of the water, where the bullets COULD penetrate, and they couldn't fire. It was in no means unfair, as he did die a few times, with not much other snipers or MGs to fill his position when he did, and I remember playing through some pretty tight situations on that map and making headway. *shrug* Just trying to contribute to the thread.
Oh yeah, and I've written essays too for threads, and the first thing that people usually say when they reply is

I would ban anyone for giving an admin abuse of any kind :P but unfortunately, everyone cries too much when you ban them for calling you a cuntkicker and threatening to kill your family.. they tend to cry 'admin abuse!'
So many players jump on the 'rage against the machine' bus .. makes adminning more like teaching a class of 16yr olds that understand they can get 100% in every exam if they shout 'sexual harassment!' loud enough

Hmm I've been banned on american servers for having a 40-2 score with a 200 ping .. while they were on 20-50 pings *cackle* .. I've joined servers with a few ppl with the idea 'lets see how long it takes us to get banned' (by just playing)
Ppl are quicker to believe you cheat than they are to believe they suck
Most admins, especially if they're new to the job.. let the 'power' go to their head .. imho it's just a service someone offers .. I enjoy NS, I play it alot .. I like to see new players startup.. but I have temp banned a new guy .. ONCE .. for dropping a SC as a first chamber .. on a RT node outside alien base (when SC wasn't worth the pixels) .. I did tell him to come here to read up on how to play .. but guessed they were just someone aliasing so they could screw around :P
um sorry for the rambling .. just handed in my notice at work :P sorta in a wierd state of mind atm :P

Anyways: I got a nice and fresh one.
Last monday i was having a few nice games on a co clan server with 0 plugins. Everything went fine till admins showed up. They were real jackasses and it was pretty obvious, that they were using sv_cheats 1.
Time for the good old givexp and give weapon_devour (i cant remeber the exact command atm). A silence, cele, marine eating bird of doom seemed to **** the admins pretty off. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
For those bans I once got banned for shotting recyclked armory while admins ignored that I was ejected in 3 second, ended up that we didnt have comm for 4mins.... and I play on those servers about only.
b/c people are being smart in this one:
no naming server names.
no flaming.
no spam (each post is a new story or specific comments on an old one).
The only server I ever got kicked from was a WW server. and that was vote kick (unfortunatly for them retry just puts me right back on the server).

Because the forum administration is a smidge less than optimal.

Well, that's more the fault of fewer and fewer crazy strats being seen on pubs than the admin's fault. I mean, it's been weeks since I've been part of a successful relocate. When the com yells "relocate! to xx location" at the beginning of the game, and everyone just stays in base waiting for the ip to be dropped....it's just painful to watch. Relocations and new tech paths might not be the best ways to win, but at least they're interesting reprieves from the standard gameplay. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo-->
This was on NS. I vowed never to play there again as well, the server owner also boasted that his server was the best server on NS.

Yeah, i've had something similar happen. In CS...dust2. I was the only T vs. two CT's. I jumped down, headed middle, with an AK. One runs by the doors, and a split second later, the other appears in them. I aim for his head, pop a round into it, killing him. The fun part, is that the recoil moved my aim enough so that the second bullet goes straight through the door, and gets a headshot on the first guy who ran by it. And i was banned for aimbotting.

Heh. I remember one time just messing around on a cs server and trying to jump out and knife people... CS_italy I was T and and I camped at the lower entrance to the Hostages a CT runs round the corner I knife him and then pick up his Carbine next thing I know theres 4 guys behind him, I headshot each of them with the carbine :s

I mostly get kicked for arguing with ridiculous admin rules which are either imposed on me or somebody else. I can't think of an NS example, but it would be something similar to this CS example I had the other day. I didn't get kicked for my views this time, because after all his logic failingsfor his previous arguments, he finished with the timeless, flawless, admin pwn.

No actually (as a student of French in my 3rd year of Uni), I think it's meant to mean that I was banned for 'being me'.

P.S. I just got banned from a server the other day, so I decided to complain about it. Haven't had a ridiculous ban yet, about the worst I can think of was for DoD. My friend got banned on a custom beach map (aaargh can't remember the name!!!) because as an Axis, he promptly camped the beach waters with an MG-42, spraying the Allies as they came up. I kept feeding him ammo as I would use the Kar-98 to try to pick off targets till I died, respawned, gave him more ammo. He had something like a 70+ on 6 ratio... I chalk it up to a combination of good teamwork between us (we were at a LAN cafe so we were right next to each other, easy to yell out orders) and bad map design, as the Allies all spawned right in the middle of the water, where the bullets COULD penetrate, and they couldn't fire. It was in no means unfair, as he did die a few times, with not much other snipers or MGs to fill his position when he did, and I remember playing through some pretty tight situations on that map and making headway. *shrug* Just trying to contribute to the thread.
Oh yeah, and I've written essays too for threads, and the first thing that people usually say when they reply is
"Well I couldn't be bothered to read it all, but..."
Just kinda makes me cry and wonder why I try...

but yeah .. I'll ban for ppl wasting my time ;) If they pay me what I earn at work, I'll let them waste all the time they want to .. until they do .. I see every hour as time/money
Some player relocates to a deadend corridor, temp ban
Someone sells spawn midgame, insta perm ban
I've only cause 2 ppl using cheats, both obvious aimbots
Non-play abuse that turns personal - perm ban (involving sisters/mums etc)
If I could get away with it, I'd ban for ppl f4'ing when the other team are legitamatly trying to end it (I've seen more than 1 game completely turned around .. and they're always the best .. if some new guy gets into one of those, they'd be NS for life! :P )
I've been on a marine team that had 0 rt's aliens had 3 hives .. and marines won :D
I would ban anyone for giving an admin abuse of any kind :P but unfortunately, everyone cries too much when you ban them for calling you a cuntkicker and threatening to kill your family.. they tend to cry 'admin abuse!'
So many players jump on the 'rage against the machine' bus .. makes adminning more like teaching a class of 16yr olds that understand they can get 100% in every exam if they shout 'sexual harassment!' loud enough
