<div class="IPBDescription">I'm scared....</div> Now that you have made the best mod for HL (IMHO) how long are you guys gonna stick around? Are you just going to abandon us? Are we going to see more and more version with more and more maps? Maybe a new mode of gameplay like escape? Are you guys going to leave us? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    With a mod release of this calibre, I woulden't be surprised if they all got sucked into a larger entity.

    I can't speak for the other team members, but I plan on sticking around. In fact I'm still working on stuff for NS. Plus, I already have a job in the game industry, so it's not like I only worked on NS to get a job.

    As for Flayra, he has big plans for the future of NS, and I doubt he's going to abandon his "baby". As long as the community continues to be supportive of us, we'll continue to support them.

    NS=#4 popularity wise.
    NS=#1 innovation wise.
    NS=#1 originality wise.
    NS=#1 technology wise.
    NS=#1 fun wise.
    NS=#1 bright future wise.

    Wow, so many #1's, yet only #4? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Best can hardly be measured by total number of servers or total number of players...

    Hell, CS has HALF the server average that NS does... It'd have near 150,000 players... Day of Defeat could nearly triple its total number of players if it had the same player/server average as NS. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> Likewise, that can't be used to infer which is the best.

    Best is an abstract concept, and will vary from person to person -- and has nothing to do with these numbers that I'm far too obsessed with. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    As long as you think it's the best MOD and have people to play with, who cares what other people think/# of popularity N-S is.

    Good point, how do we keep this game low profile?
  • StraylightStraylight Join Date: 2002-11-01 Member: 2783Members
    Yes it could also be that it's harder to run a low lag NS server (so there are less servers) right? I heard some admins talking about how demanding they are and I know that on many when you get enough structures up everyone's ping goes to like 800.
  • NeonJamNeonJam Join Date: 2002-11-03 Member: 5700Members
    Its not surprising that buildings lag the server, i really dont think hl was made to support them like this.

    A few TFC Engineer's SGs..no problem...

    But in one game these <!--emo&::sentry::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/turret.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='turret.gif'><!--endemo--> and these <!--emo&::siege::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/siege.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='siege.gif'><!--endemo--> will probably always outnumber the total number of TFC Sgs in one entire game, including those that were destroyed..

    Amazing the team still pulled it off.....nice job guys! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
