Probably Going To Get Banned Soon

Its cheesy but I'm going to say that a few people around here are really cool people and I'm going to miss being able to interract with them. I want to explain why though

It seems lately I just can't seem to get along with a vast majority of a certain group of people. *COUGH DISCUSSIONS*

Not to sound cruel but it is literally infested with people who have a vastly different viewpoint than mine. Now, to not sound contrived I am not upset about that. I welcome differeating opinions. I also have a problem. I seem to be unable to communicate my opinion without chastising the opposition. I have embarassed Nemesis by behaving this way, and, ban or not, I won't be back.

I want to apollogize to nemesis and thank several people, such as reasa, medhead and the clam. I don't agree with any of them for the most part, but they are the only three I see who are able to communicate their view without doing the same thing I do to others.

My other main problem is I see a lot of the people on these boards come off as pseudo-intellectuals and it frustrates me to no limit.

So basically, if you've talked to me at all beyond these boards, and I didn't openly say I hate you, I either don't know you, or simply never talked to you 1 on 1. So thats it I suppose. It may be best to ban me so if someone happens to guess my password they don't defile my name anymore than I've already done myself. So, if redford reads this I apollogize to him too.

Simple fact is, I don't get along with the majority of the people here now and I just think its best to move on.

Ooops I forgot to add, if your one of the people I get along well with and talk to on occasion please email communistwithagun@gmail.com, add me to aim at commiewithagun, or add me to msn at omni_blake@hotmail.com Thanks

Just stay away from Discussions - If I went there I'm sure I'd feel the same way as you do

Gamers don't generally make good debaters, it seems. (or at least, there are enough pseudo-high-minded fools who want to wade in and ruin things)

I don't see why you'd get banned from the whole forum just because of discussions. I mean, that's the reason behind the whole "restricted members" thing, right?

CWAG, you can always just take a break away from us for awhile, and visit us again when you feel like talking to a few old friends.

    Better that than getting banned.

If I'd say what I think about a few members and how such freaking idiots they are, I'd be banned a lot more.

I tried Discussion forum for awhile, then I realized I couldn't post more than three sentences without making a run-on sentence or making coherence statements without typos or grammatical errors. Also it's hard trying to get my message through some people.

eh CWAG, the discussion forum really hasn't been up to par as of late, to many one liners and quips and not enough hardcore discussion

Twice now I have had recently felt personally attached to topics in the discussion forum. The first time I stepped away from the discussion completely, the second time I was more aggressive in my reply than I meant to be (not to a poster themselves but I was more vocally dismissive of their opinions than I should have been... I think 'rubbish' was used one or twice ).

There is no reason why you can't stay on the forum though, you've been a fixture of this forum, like a mascot or a cheerleader or something

Just prove that you can stay civil and then everything should be fine, it'd be a good test for you. Bear in mind that my opinions often differ dramatically from others there on particular topics and I still enjoy debates.

I don't really see what you're aiming at here, CWAG. You got restricted, but to the best of my knowledge, you did not receive any other warnings, so what makes you think you'll be banned soon?

CWAG don't do this. Dropping everything because the discussions forum is causing you trouble isn't worth it. I mean, we've barely spoken, but I think that you'd be doing yourself a disservice making this an all or nothing situation.

CWAG(someone, anyone), I've never argued with you before let alone have any contact whatsoever, but I felt like I had to say, It's the internet.. when you get too tired of making your brain hurt over intangible reasons just retreat to the real world and take a break.

In other news I bathed my cat and I am very glad I wore latex rubber gloves or else I would have been a human scratching post.

I know what its like CWAG. Its hard to stay civil when debating with certain people, I just got sick of it and stopped trying and I was (quite rightly) restricted for it. Though I do miss discussions a great deal, at least there are others over there still who can say the things I want to say and remain civil.

try to look at the positives:
You won't be tempted to flame anybody, because you can't anymore.
The fact that the mods are restricting people more readily now means that the discussion forum will be cleaned up a bit. No more AvengerX's!

the discussion forum is pure evil. if you are easily offended or have strong opinions about ANYTHING, you should avoid it like the plague. they should put additional restrictions on it so that people with less than say 200 posts cannot post in there, and that no more than 50% of your total post count can be made in discussions.

there are better boards to dicuss serious topics than the NS boards. the rules here are too tight for any controverisal topics to be discussed. people get emotional, and if you do, you should find a board where flaming is allowed, to an extent...

Internet Discussion Forums are solely reserved for those who don't know s**t, but still want to act like they know s**t.
If you're not one of those people... get out! Get out!

Internet Discussions are the biggest farce this planet will ever have to face.

the problem is a lot of subjects are very personal to some people (religion and homosexuality have been mentioned), so, if your "opinion" steps on people's toes, the flames will start. given that if you were having these types of dicussions on the street people will start flaming each other, these forums present an unnatural (pun intended) environment to discuss these topics because vents of anger and frustrations are muted by the admins. if the admins are not prepared to accept the emotional responses that come with these types of dicussions, these types of discussions need to be locked immediately, or auto-locked (a la garry's mod forums), or the dicussion forums itself needs to be closed. a lot of off-topic forusm i've been to expressly say in stickies that such and such topics are forbidden.

If you're not capable of expressing your opinion without flaming someone, your stay in discussions will be short, thanks to the vigilent mods. The fact that the discussion forums are still open (this time) shows that people don't always let their emotions get the better of them.
