WTH does this mean ?!?!?
On occasion when joining my server i see this error in console "Missing RIFF/WAVE chunk".

It's not necessarily related to NS so must be half life I am guessing. What does it signify?

According to others - you should update.

Thanks for the try but an update won't fix it ( I had it before AND after 3.0).

simply means you have a sound file in your fastdownloading folder or link that is being precached, but the server dosent have this sound/folder.

I found 3 files in my remote sound/misc folder that are not in my local sound/misc folder, so I copied them over and will check for the error again. I honestly didn't think the 3 in question were precached, but evidently they are somewhere.

*** E D I T *** I just spent 15 minutes re-checking every single sound file in my fastdownloading folder against the sound files on my server and found absolutely no discrepencies.

    Any other ideas?

You get that error when you accidentally do "play demo.dem" instead of "playdemo demo.dem". Which in that situation is giving an error because its trying to play a wav file but its not a wav file, its a demo file.

So perhaps one of your wav files is damaged?
