it would be much better to play your own music with aprogram like winamp, ratehr than letting HLdeal with it (if it can) i tried for 10 mins and coudlnt get it to play anything so i gave up

Tried HLamp?

If you want random music to be played in the background then you just replace the mp3s in the "ambience" foler with files of your choosing.

You're better off using WinAmp, and generating a playlist, and playing the songs back randomly.

If you still want to, the command to play mp3's in Half-Life is:
mp3 play "filename.mp3"

The files go in your ns directory, but you can put them in folders and use, "mp3 play folder/filename.mp3"

I guess you could bind it to a key for different songs...

I tried modiying the startup song for NS to a MP3 i had, and it did not play at all. I used the correct name and all. Is there a certain setup to convert the MP3s to? ( I use dbpoweramp)
