i got a couple pics from random parts on the internet
the main thing with this level is that you have to be walking around it the sutble ambient sounds mixed with random things falling over makes for a very scary affect
ill be nice and link all the images cuz there are so many

I'd put the cradle higher, but VtM:B does a great job.
Ahhhh theif 3. LOVE that game, so very fun, stealing stuff etc. I agree the cradle was definatly one of the most scariest levels ive played in a game. The first impressions are like...ahh fair enough crazy abandoned insane asylum type thing. Then the zombie runs across the screen and your like HOLY **** WTH WAS THAT?! great fun
Im currently playing through VTM: Bloodlines havent got too far though, I just killed that crazy dude that cuts off people limbs etc etc
On V:tM as much as I enjoyed it, the horrid load times, generally poor performance, and various bugs had me leaving it half-way through Downtown. It was a great game, but it was hampered by so many problems.

Ah, the days of stacking corpses in Thief 3 & Deus Ex 2 inside cupboards. I made the place interesting.

Bloodlines takes a fair crack at the horror thing, and kinda pulls it off, but the Cradle definately has tons more atmosphere, due to not being on an awful engine (Hey, i liked it).
But one of the games i more refer to as being creepier would be Project Zero. The game is nearly entirely atmosphere and tension.

Heh...I remember when my mum played through T:DS. That bit in the cradle where you go up the stairs, and you suddenly hear knocking on the other side of the door? She went as white as a ghost.
I played Thief 3, got past a few missions, but lost interest. I never seem to be able to play "tactical stealth" games for long, no matter how much I want to like them. MGS, Splinter Cell. As far as I'm concerned, they all suck. I want to like them.
Anyways, seems kind of scary... Can it compare to System Shock 2, though? That game has really set the bar for me. First game where I actually lost my nerve (at the escape pod on the Rickenbacker), and I've played a lot of games that are supposed to be horrifying, like Dino Crisis, The Thing, etc.
I'm serious I really want to know where SS2 would be compared to this "Cradle" on a scale of scariness, say 1-10.
SS2 would be around the 7-8 mark. The cradle would be roughly 8-9, although it's a bit unfair to compare a level from one game to an entire other game.
In comparison, Resident Evil: Remake would be around 6 for me. Other RE games 4-5. The Thing, at its best, around 5-6.
Also did any of you guys playing this go up to the isolation chamber and get kinda trapped cos there's no crontols for he lift at the top?
That creepy laugh you hear as you gett to the top was unsettling.

Thief: Deadly Shadows isn't. It's set in a sort of alternate medieval world - steam power and magick*.

It is the evolution of all horror games done by that team over the time, built with an engine that's capable of creating realistic looking environments. It is, in short, a masterpiece worth all kinks of the rest of the game.
