People's Systems

AKA, the show off your rig thread
This one just sprung to mind, athought it was a running thing at CBL (read as a runnig joke, with me and Iain laughing at the kiddies, and the adults pathetic attempts to out frame us.)

Seeing as FPS isn't such a good indication of how good people's systems are, I reckon we should all run a triple cyle of 3DMark05, and post up our AVERAGE score, not the highest one of the three.
If you need a copy of 3DMark05, then go Here, where you can get a list of hosting sites, and download £Dmark05 from a mirror site. Be carful though, as it's a 290 odd MB download.

Run a standard test, then write down the result, then run it again, write down the results, then a third time, add up all the results, then divide the whole lot by 3 to give your average score. Don't bother with decimal places (my average is 6106.667). Post your 3D Marks, and your CPUMarks below. See if you can squeeze in the spec of your system also.

I'll start.

3DMarks: 6106
CPUMarks: 4498

System Spec.
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3500+, stock speeds.
M/B: ASUSTek A8N-SLi Deluxe nForce4 SLi
Graphics: 2x XFX GeForce 6600GT Gamer's Edition, running in SLi formation.
RAM: 1GB Corsair XMS Pro @ 400MHz, Dual Channel mode.

Also, if someone's going to keep a tally of this, we should have one leaderboard for stock speed PCs, and one for OC'd PCs.

Graphics: ATI RADEON 9600 SE 128MB (AGP)

lacking the tools to open my case to check, i have no clue about my system beyond what DXDiag tells me

Neo, seeing as I used it as a crash-test tool for someone's pride and joy today, I can give a guestimate for your score.

The system what iwas tested on was a P4 3GHz+hyperthreading, 512MB RAM, and a 128MB R9800Pro, and that score 1532 marks.

Honestly, I think yours will get around 900-1000 if you disable everything in the background.

1k in 3D05 marks isn't that bad actually. My old Barton 2800, 512MB RAM, FX5600XT used to only get 500 3D05 marks.

    2.4 ghz Pentium 4 @ 3.4 ghz
    Asus P4C800 Deluxe
Asus Radeon 9800 xt (stock right now)
2x 7200 rpm Sata 160 gb Hard drives
512 mb Corsair Pc3200 (I want to pick up another 512 though, 1 gig sounds nice)

I can't remember but I think my old '05 score was the upper 2 or 3 thousands. Something around there.

Artificial benchmarks suck. Its realworld (i.e. actual game) benchmarks that matter.

    I've got:
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4ghz (B), 533FSB
1GB PC 2100 RAM, dual channel
    Geforce 6800 GT

I'm thinking of upgrading soon though, to at least 3.4ghz (maybe more), 800FSB, and some superfast ram, at least 1.5GB worth, maybe 2. Oh and a 10,000RPM SATA drive.

uhhh i have 3DMark05 but i havent really done a test on it yet so im not quite sure what i get.

I would normally have a Radeon 9600 Pro AIW in there but I broke the dongle to the back of the card while hauling my comp in the trunk of my car, and have yet to order a new one (ATI's out of stock and they cost like $50 everywhere else). Since this is a computer thread I'm gonna ask for some tech help. For a couple of months now my computer just randomly shuts off, without any warning, doesn't lock up it just shuts down. I've tried a different PSU, reinstalled Windows, updated the bios and drivers, and I've re-tied the wires back a little bit (as you can see by the picture Im not very good at it). I can't seem to get an answer on any forums or MSI's tech support, but maybe someone knows something here.

Edit: I got tired last night and forgot to put in ram and case

I just recently upgraded so would be able to play HL2 at a decent speed.

    OLD:
    PIV: 1.8ghz
    RAM: 512MB 2100
    Vid Card: TNT2 32MB
    Sound: SoundBlaster Gold
    Ethernet: 10/100
    DVD: 2X DVD Rom
    CD: 48X16X24 CDR/RW

    New:
    PIV: 3.2 ghz/w HT
    RAM: 2Gig 4000
    VidCard: Geforce 6800 GT OC
    Sound: Sound Blaser audiogy gold
    Ethernet 100/100
    DVD: 16X DVD Rom/DVD +- R/RW (two drives)
    CD: 52X48X48X CD/R/RW.
I think that is all that is important. Of course I'm a computer noob who just buys what I find at a decent price and is better then what I had before. (ninja edits)

    Ph33r the mess.

Slightly outdated picture. In the picture it's got 4 hard drives, 30gb, 13gb, 9gb, and 40gb. I've since removed the 40 (died) and the 13 and the 9 and replaced them all with a 160.

It's also got a Radeon 9500 Pro in the picture, which I had until recently; it is now also deceased.

The Motherboard is (as you can tell by leaning your head to the left and looking between CPU0 and the northbridge) an Iwill DVD266u-RN.
It is powered by the short-lived VIA Pro266TD chipset.

The CPUs are both server Pentium 3s, clocked at 1.4ghz each, with 133mhz FSBs and 512k of L2.

It has a gig of DDR266(aka PC2100) ram.

That's a 360W power supply up there, and a silly LED fan to the rear that I got because it was cheaper than the black one.

Currently inhabiting the AGP slot is my old Geforce3, and while that does the job quite well for NS, I'm looking forward to having a radeon in there again. ZipZoomFly tells me the 9800 should be here on Tuesday.

I am using an onboard (gasp!) c-media sound chip thing. It does the job just fine, thank you.

I am currently stockpiling my (admittedly pathetic) paycheck for a new system. I will be going uber-high-end and I will show it off here complete with photos. I have arguably enough money already but I am waiting for certain key technologies to be released.
