What are you trying to say about 3.0 sens? My mind reading powers are low at the moment.

In B6 MC = greatest starting chamber... expecially on FF servers.

    Silence is overpowered.

Seriously though, I track skulks just as much with sound as I do with sight, silence is little different from someone blinding me. ^^

B6 hasn't really changed anything... DC is still the most viable for higher lifeforms, isn't it? Innate regen takes much too long.

In 3.0 I enjoy both MC and SC as starting chambers. SC for cloaking and MC for silence. I think 3.0 opens up a lot more variety in stratigies since each chamber is more viable.

Silence is much better hard countered by motion tracking... but before the marines get MT, good silence skulk > good cloaking skulk

Cloaking only works well if you have the patience to wait for the marines to run into you... Silence is just gaurenteed kills if you use it right.

Play on good, mature servers and you won't get kicked as long as you ask. I play mostly on Tactical Gamer and Lunixmonster (thanks to some great recommendations on this forum), and movement and sensory chambers often come first. It's mostly on the random pubs where people are like "omg sensory ban!!!!" (and then you have some retard who just drops a sensory from the start of the game for absolutely no reason instead of dropping an rt etc just despite everyone else.)

If you got some good skulks, you don't need fades untill 2nd hive.

Edit: And free upgrades makes skulks better.

That alone gives a huge boost to SC and MC, since their upgrades can be used without slowing down a hive or fades, and the DC upgrades aren't nearly as helpful for skulks.

good vanilla skulk > both of those. learn to tap forward silently and you'll need a lot less time to get those 50 res. not dissing silence at all though, its the most amazing upgrade of all.

    No.

You will be 95% cloaked while standing still or walking. Faster than walking, you will slowly become increasingly uncloaked to 60%, depending on how fast you move. Attacking will, of course, remove cloak.

Yes, it has been 95% for all of 3.0. I think it was 100% in 1.0 and 2.0...not sure there though.

    Pretty sure so.

The only problem I have with the new cloaking is that you're going to hear a lot of screams of "Omg! Cloaking noob! Kick!" While I agree they are using cloaking horribly it's not nub! Argh. But now that cloak has been improved we'll be seeing a lot of screaming.

My point was that you CANNOT have cloaking the ability AND focus. I wasn't arguing with the percentiles. o_O Sense chambers offer 100% cloaking no matter the speed/etc. Therefore it would be possible to have 100% cloak and focus, but not 60%. Arr.

note: 100% if standing still with cloaking the ability in 3.0, scales down to 70% at normal running speed, decreases more if you are moving faster than running speed(I.E. Bhop or Lerk gliding)

side note: ability = upgraded ability, chamber = when within cloaking distance of a Sensory chamber.

    RE-EDIT: I am reffering to B6(also known as 3.0Final) by the way!!!(Important!!!! )

Innate regen is worthless except in the rare situation where you only died by a margin of a couple bullets in B5, and higher lifeforms are as dependent on DCs as always. However, MCs and SCs got huge buffs in B6 because both of them are much more accessible to skulks, and sensories are obviously somewhat stronger(although the new cloak really isn't much better). In other words, it's much more viable to take MC or SC first for the benefit of your skulks and your team than it was before. Getting upgrades for free at twice the speed of before means that once those chambers are down, EVERY skulk on the team will always have an upgrade, and MC/SC upgrades are better for skulks than DC ones. Movements first gives you celerity and silence for skulks, adren for lerks, and gives you easy access to a building hive if FF is on. Sensories gives you cloaking for skulks, focus for skulks and fades, SoF for everybody else, as well as the cloaking/SoF of a sens network.

In other words, if you follow the same strat that aliens have always followed since 2.0, then DCs are better. MCs/SCs are a better choice if you're willing to alter your tactics a bit.

Silence does not neccesarily suck againts Motion tracking, i mean, how many times as marine do you spontaneously turn around? very very often if you're a good marine, but most marines aren't good. motion tracking won't help you if the aliens aren't in front of you.
