<div class="IPBDescription">Thank God it's out :D</div> I didn't put this in I&S or the bug forum because it's been removed in b6, but check out what the knife knockback can do in b5. This marine literally bounced the onos on his knife and the onos couldn't hit him until it timed it perfectly.

I'm sure the aliens won't miss the knockback.
reduce it more heavily. i really hate it when they jump and land 50 feet away then i get owned by the fresh shotgun shell they have put in since they missed the firs ttime and have gotten bitten twice.
yes... the word nazi... coming from the person with the name pjofsky... what the heck is that!?!
It was kind of stupid having a knife able to knock back a 2 tonne alien like the Onos!
Knockback is a word. You won't find it in the OED, but it is a term that has been accepted by the gaming community as a whole.

They tried taking out bite knockback a while ago (I think during 2.0 betas), and it was way too much of an advantage for aliens.

I think you missed the point. He was saying that Sizer shouldn't be a word nazi when he was using a word that isn't really a word. Whether or not knockback is a word doesn't really change his point (responding to theclam's post).
Whee, I was saved!
Anyway. Bite knock-back should be kept in. As a marine, I rely on that a lot to get further away from a skulk if they manage to get the first bite.
As for knife knock-back, that would probably help me get more knife kills regarding the skulk, but it's incredibly useful when you're fighting an onos. If you just crouch and knife upward, they're flung into the air, and everyone else gets to shoot at it. It doesn't make that much of a difference, even if it's way above your head. The onos is still able to gore you (if it has focus, it might be harder), but I always thought that was intended, because the knifer isn't exactly without risk.
(as fun as that is when you are on marines...)
Anyone have a link to a profile pack of much more skillful rcbots? I would do it myself, but I wouldn't know how to balance it.
Marine fans love knock back as it can give them an over-powered edge when it shouldn't.
Alien fans hate it because it takes a kill away that they deserve. Its like saying every other shot a marine takes should also damage him self, so he has to be careful when he shoots an alien or the alien will kill him with his own attack.
The real solution?
Keep bite knock back in, but have it knock out the person's weapon (just make the weapon fly 6feet back with the person), if the person decides to jump and do the flying knock back, let him suffer in the end for loosing his weapon, but keeping his life.

Knife knockback is a nono, thats like saying parasite should prevent the marine from shooting for a period of time.
Stop seeing balance from one side and go for the middle.
most of the times its people just strafe jumping away
but yea... Im glad to see it go.

yes it does you dont know what your talking about.
Marines should be getting owned by skulks at close range, IMO.
