Not only does the question stir the deepest thoughts of the pondering mind, it also imposes an exigency or put in more of a simpler term, an undying precariousness that could not be halted. Anyway, not drifting too far away from the topic, I do concur about the suggested time frame given on the development of NS:Source. Ergo, previous work has shown that quality is a priority correspondent to the allotted tme. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->

You would be correct. There has been no final decision whether NS will be ported to source or not. Also do not confuse NS:2 with NS:S. They may or may not decide to use source as an engine for a port/sequal, and are currently evaluating which engine would serve the "mod" best. It has been decided as you may already know that NS:2 will NOT be a mod, yet a standalone, retail game, and thus if they decide to use source, they must either purchase a license from valve, or work out some sort of agreement with them to become like CS (Highly unlikely).

It is entirely possible that NS:Source never comes out, though i believe most of the players would like to see it happen, with UWE and NS:2, it might not be possible with time/resources constraints.

phew.. anyway just my humble opinion. <!--emo&::marine::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/marine.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='marine.gif' /><!--endemo--> <- still waiting to get his broadband connection back so he can actually play HL2.

Why would it be "highly unlikely". I mean what would Valve lose from this kind of deal? More good and original mods like NS only boost the HL2 sales... right?

Regarding the NS:S and NS 2 is pretty interesting, if they do not release or make port to the source, it will probably "increase" their chances on selling the possible NS2 better (?). Personally i want to see NS(2) on HL2 in some form, free or not.

Perhaps they make whole new team that will do the port...

Hopefully this wouldnt be so far in the future, frankly the NS on HL1 engine is just too old. :/

Okay to be realistic, not particularly pessimistic, NS:Source will never happen! Again, I'm not complaining but it takes the NS team months to release a small beta upgrade, the prospect of an entire port of the game seems a tad unlikely :-(

Yes please! take your time and do it right.
Dont let it go the way that DoD seems to be going.

    Stay away from that path!

Vampire: Bloodlines uses Source... and that was clearly rushed, and nowhere near as polished as HL2 or CS:S's models.

Do a good job. We'd all rather wait.
