    Everything you don't want is worth posting.

    I may dig out one or two today, the only problem I have is I recycle old .rmf's in to newer existing maps.

    Here's everything you'll need to begin work on my map, ns_apoc. It was my first true fairly good looking ns map, and I hope you guys can put the source in use. The .zip Contains everything you'll need to play the map, and the .rmf, the .rad, and the preset I use to compile it in batch.

    I'd post all of my maps, from the Gendo remake to the Vertigo combat map I had set up, but I lost all of them. The only one I have was when I was throwing together an idustrial look for co_myrmidon, and thats not very far into progress.

    hmm, i would post the source i made from ns_fenris's cargo hive c, but i dont think that sir_pepe would like that.

    maybe ill get around to finishing that map, since noone else did...

    It doesn't matter if it doesn't compile, maybe someone can fix it themselves if they want. The idea of unfinished maps and source files is from people to learn from techniques and others mistakes.

    Wow! I found an old .rmf I was looking for last year after my computer died on me at the start of spring. I thought I lost it last year, but obviously not! I won't use it, so here is the source to download, from the 9th February 2004.

    The point of this topic is not to steal parts from peoples' maps and add them to your own, the point is that by looking at sources you may LEARN from others. I know I sure as hell wouldn't want to put up old sources here if I know that people will just grab them from the rmf without second thought and slap it in their map. "I'm a mapper!", indeed.

    Besides, he said he lost the rmf. How is he supposed to 'find' it? And if he could, why should he? So some random person can add it to their map and claim it as their own?

    bleh...I have the rest of the map all planned out, I just needed something to fill in an empty spot between the hive and the "double res" room if it was an NS map...lol yes there will be resnodes, but no RTs and they're just for show...oops revealed too much...!

    Seriously, it'll take you a whole lot trouble if you just create that hallway yourself instead of using one made by someone else. The main reason why everyone is posting their sources is so they can help you. You don't learn from stealing. You learn from observing.

    Would be interesting if we could get alot of map source files together, and then played about with them to make an interesting community map which will quite possibly have no hardline theme, but will look good and hopefully play just as good. The author list could possibly reach 20+ though.

    It's just given me a thought, NS could be in the guiness book of records for "most people to work on a single map project" <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Sorry, no RMF and no screenshots. I lost the thread location in the .org > .com move (from my sig) and haven't been able/assed to find it again since.

    Solace is not dead though, just sleeping. I'll take it back up in late summer, along with beginning work on the mapping for Citadel Utopia. In some ways all of this time away from Hammer (5 months) has seen me come up with some really good concept art for the architecture. I've completely designed the Gospel Generator (Hive location), the corridors that lead there, a cool new room near Gospel, some cool corridors for the Cargo Bridge (ICU point) and also added to the design of the Veritas Complex.

    Unfortunately, no pics, not even scanned concept art. That's the flipside of the "boredom-leads-to-creativity" coin.

    Screenshots from beta2 of ns_adrianne. (Beta1 was a complete disaster so I completely redid the map, virtually from scratch.) Some of you might remember the preview vid that I put up in the "Post Your Screenshots" thread in mid-January.

    The map was completed, but never released, for two reasons. Firstly, the shell that I had access to (and where I was going to put the map for download) died, and has not returned. My guess is that it's been firewalled. Secondly, I'm very busy in my new job, and whether or not I would have the time to maintain it is very much up for debate.

    Hope you like what I did, though...

    and for the rest of the good mappers out there, CREATE BACKUPS FREQENTLY! i would have loved to play some of those maps.

    my rmf folder is now several gigs i think, never lost any decent maps tho alltho one (de_cabbage) got corrupted right near the end and the guy who made the .rmf to .map converter (Jebediah) managed to recover enough of it for me to finish it off properlly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Update: one of my friends saw the screenshots that I posted a few posts up. He's persuaded me to take it up again, and he's going to get his friends to playtest it for me. So it may get released after all. Watch this space.

    Naigel - that curved hallway is absolutely amazing. Please finish that map. I'm still learning this mapping lark and will use some of these pictures for architectural inspiration as i currently make a lot of boxes!!
