    I suggest jumping in head first into NS and being marines. Dont play CO until after you've learned the game, because the experience of playing NS and learning as you go in that game mode is so much more enjoyable then having everything thrown at you in the quick pace of CO.

    just dont jump into the CC first. watch other ppl comm b4 trying. being shouted at when you are comming is really stressfull.

    I'd say go for Combat, but only if you've got some experience in FPS games.
    Most people do have the necessary experience, and the intro for new players assumes this.

    adding prefixes to your name just tends to get you ignored by some commanders. Who are you going to give the HMG, and HA to? Someone with a clan title, or someone with "Look at me, I'm a newbie" at the start of their name?

    Well yea, its not that the comm gives him all the uber weapons and stuff, its so that people won't ***** at him for going fade and then dying or something.     avoid CO like the plague! it'll ruin you as a NS player. it makes you think that GLs and HMGs grow on trees. and that oni are just big skulks.... for reals, don't play it, go striaght into NS

    No, people will still moan about him not spending his 50 res on gorging, then building the new hive, even if all the locations are locked down with an FX-style turret farm that an onos would have trouble breaking...

    Also, if you're going to play Classic maps only, just remember that being new, you should only really ask for the heavier weapons when the team has plenty of resources. Because you WILL get nailed by some little punk as a skulk, until you get better.
