How is it triggered?
Saw a guy in pub co triggering catalyst before he went into battle. It seemed like he was pistoling and moving his mouse in a strange pattern. I can't guarantee that he was doing all that stuff to trigger the catalyst but he did it about half the time. For me, catalyst always ends up triggering after I finish a battle. How, exactly, does the game decide to drop a pack on you in CO?

lol...
Cat packs drop once you've killed something unlike what cookman is saying.,..
If you die straight after you've killed something apon respawn you will recieve that cat pack. And thats about all it is to them. usual towards the start of CO but not against late CO when theres fades/onos and they are kinda hard to garuntee a kill from if they know what they are doing.
Yes, it is possible if you're not carrying too much weaponry and ammo. Too much weight will slow you and prevent you from achieving the speed needed to bunnyhop on a flat surface.
According to my experimenting, you need just over 260 base speed to consistently bunnyhop on a flat surface. It can be done with 260, but you will be stopped every 3 jumps or so. This means that your base speed without catalysts should be over 208 (catalyst adds 25% to speed).
You forgot the B A ;p
But yeah. Every kill = catpack in Co.
The answer is : Yes you can with an LMG. Your loadout has to be light enough, or you can't do it on absolutely flat land - however, you can do it on really miniscule inclines and not to mention your first jump is absolutely huge anyway, and if you just wait a split second between taking off again you're back to doing the same thing.
Yea, Its nice getting a speed boost because some guy is bunny hopping around with his eyes closed.
Unfortunately hand grenades are worthless in Co.
unfornatually hand grenades, catpacks and combat are all worthless.

Is that for the Megadrive or SNES?

the code really is:
^ ^ v v < > < > L2 R2 select start.
Gradius forever btcxhz
also flatland marine bhop catpack mines seems like two too many upgrades than normal. Maybe if I gave up HMG and welder.
Except for Comic Relief.

Went and tested. 206 is LMG/LA base with default loadout. Empty one pistol clip and you can do it with any gun drawn (210 base), otherwise you can only do it with your knife out (while carrying both other guns - again 210) So yes its fully possible in co_, but not if you have resupply and are carrying around too much ammo.
Small footnote, at 208 (which is what you get with resupply and 100 bullets in your pack), it wouldn't work and slow down post-jump like normal.
