Here is a url for microsoft powertoys. These are tweaks for Windows XP which add additional functionality. Included on this page is the famed Tweak UI, and yes, it is compatible with winxp.

When it comes to tweaking your Windows 2000 or XP machine, MonsieurEvil's word is law. I really like Magic Tweak.
Only works for 15 days, but most of the things you'd do with it are one time things anyways.
Its a must get for optimizing and customizing Windows.

I shant poke MonsE directly. I shall poke one of the Microsoft Lawyer Ninjas under his control until he agrees to tell MonsE to update it.

Hopefully MonsE will be able to hear the request from inside his Bill Gates 1 Mecha suit. (Ninja are rather quiet people, you know)

[edit]That's right. Not only did I just poke a ninja, I used the word "shant" in the process. That's got to be some sort of triple word bonus or something

2 questions from an XP nub (no flaming please).

1): In regards to setting your page file size as a multiple of your physical memory, does this refer to your RAM or what?

2): How often do you need to defrag? Is once every 10 days to 2 weeks to often? Can any harm come from defragging TO often?

You guessed correctly, physical memory = RAM.
As far as I'm aware, the only harm that can come from defragging is that you're making the hard drive do something, and over the course of multiple years constant activity may increase the risk of the drive having a mechanical failure on the inside. It just makes logical sense when you have the equivalent of a wheel turning a whole lot of times within close proximity to a needle. Then again, defragging more often means that each time it defrags, it has less work to do. Once every one or two weeks is fine for my purposes.

I'd like to set my pagefile size correctly and will attach a screenie of my Virtual Memory. The "minimum and maximum" is throwing me off here as I see no minimum.

Set "initial size" and "maximum size" both to 2560MB. But if possible you should do it on a harddrive that doesn't have the OS installed on it. This should all be covered in the guide. Which I will upload a .doc of just so people don't use the google cache.
