put that 3d card to use in plain windows
This is for people impatient for Project Looking Glass, or people who want yet another way to bog down their system resources with "Ooooh, pretty"
If the site seems slow to you, it's because it's currently being /.ed. It will load if you're patient. Basically it's just an add-on to plain old Windows to make your desktop a sphere. Takes some getting used to, and some people won't like it for everyday use, but it certainly does impress.

Edit: That picture of NYC on the screenshots is nifty.
From the screenshots alone, yes, it does look stupid. But on the right sidebar is a relatively tiny link saying "demo." For the moment it doesn't go to a usable demo -- it goes to videos of it being demonstrated at a convention (the initial bits seem like a boring slideshow; just wait for the good stuff to start about 1/3 of the way through).
Those videos help justify it much more. I think it's about time a proper OS takes advantage of the 3d card.
Would be better if I can place windows in a 3D room and I actually move around here and there browsing.
No it is just slow your computer for a pointless thing

Still looks quite silly. Much too cumbersome.
Especially for me. Almost all my windows are maximized, so I wouldn't see any benefit to this at all.
problems with making weird white boxes on my screen.

But you could play Neopets!
IN THE THIRD DIMENSION!
So, to the normal mortal that dosent need space, looking glass might not be anything special, but to me, i could use the neat features it has.
