Invader Zim
Anyone else watch this show? I just bought all the volumes, and enjoy nearly every episode. Darn Nick, for they cancelled the show! (It's not really a kid show, which inevitably led them to cancel it) It'd be nice if Cartoon Network picked it back up, but that's incredibly wishful thinking. Yes. Tacos.

MY friend just scored all 3 seasons of it on DVD. Wewt!
They have the Fairly Odd Parents or something, which is the only show that's worth anything on that network anymore. Spongebob, Ed-Edd and Eddie sucks...Then they keep getting these shows with an 'intelligent' protagonist, like Dexter's lab, but they're never smart and it's never funny, so they're always crap.
Anyway, Adult Swim is starting down the crapper to, with all the "Tom Goes to the Mayor" and "Milk Chan" crap going on. At least Venture Bros. is a decently cool show.
VB is the only reason I watch Adult Swim. Family Guy got old and I can get anime off the inteVIDEO STORE.
I wonder whatever happened to the strange fun that was Pete & Pete
"I am ARTY! the strongeeest maan... in the wuuuuurld"
Nick must have gotten new managment, because shows that they used to have, that I'd still watch if they had them are not there any more
Quoted for truth.
Can't forget the angry beavers.
Oh well.
Tom Goes to the Mayor takes some getting used to. I didn't really like it the first time I saw it, but now I think it's the best thing on Adult Swim next to Venture Bros. It's subdued and muted humor is a real depature from zaniness we expect from ATHF and Sealab. Just give it another chance, and take it for what it is, instead of what you're used to.

You lucky bastage. I was dieing to watch them again.
Fairly Odd parents is pretty great, what with all the pop culture references and the guys who are doing that show seem to know their comic books pretty well.
AND WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR SIFL AND OLLY???

Yet another show that capture New Jersey in a positive light, under constant threat of destruction
Did you know that the creator of Zim is also the artist for a very demented, yet awesome Comic Book series?
"Johnny the Homicidal Maniac" by Johnen Vasqueze (I think that how you spell it).
It's kind of ironic... the creator of such a friendly Cartoon made such a Demented (But awesome) Comic book.
Yes, Jhonen Vasquez was the mind behind Invader Zim... and one of the reasons he grew to loathe it was the restrictions that Nick placed on him. Such as changing lines ('neeeeeed pork daddy!' was changed from 'neeeeeeed c*ck daddy!', and the chicken hut was changed to a pork eatery), placing restrictions on storylines, and most importantly... they forced him to 'dumb down' sections so the drooling slack-jawed dirt-children could understand the humor. When it was making fun of them.
For other works (DEFINITELY not for children), see Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Squee, and I Feel Sick. Heck, Ms. Bitters and the Irkens were pulled directly from Squee. You'll also catch cameos from the others waltzing through the background.
The worst part is, Zim did fantastically in EVERY market segment, except the one Nick wanted it to address... the 5-12 segment. 14-86, everyone could appreciate it.. and more than just the 'gothic crowd'. Hell, my Grandma bought and wears an 'OBEY THE FIST!' t-shirt.
Also, Megas XLR makes my eyes bleed. I'd rather eat broken glass than watch that crap. I haven't given Tom Goes a chance yet, because the lazy-**** animation style looks like it's trying to be Red Meat.
He was flying around in some ship thing and a bee is flying towards him they cut from him to the bee a fee times then he nails it. Everything is fine for about a second then his ship explodes rather dramatically and starts falling to the ground. The whole time the bee is stuck to his windshield with this ridiculously stupid look on it's face and its little bee tongue sticking out.
Comedy gold.

Don't laugh. My School is a Christian school, and the first thing that looks 'evil' is banned, burned then the child is thereby whipped. (Not literally)

and this is from the guy who looks at furrie pr0n
But now, the only cartoon I watch is Fairly Odd Parents (which has been stated as the only good show on Nick...I agree).
Then again, Jhonen is a pretty good storyteller, even through all of the restrictions. The only one I really, really didn't like was the Christmas special. That sucked. Halloween rocked all over. Crazy collar!
