Yeah. Near the beginning of the airbot ride(I think it was near the beginning.), you see him up on a ledge on a house. At the end of the ride, after pwning the chopper and getting up and behind the building that is immediately visible behind those closed doors, you can see him further along the 'road' to the dam.

There's a pillar of energy with some of those crazy bouncy balls of doom up top. Grav gun them into the reactor, and you'll knock it out.

    I want HL3. Now.

And Alyx is dead? Gordo got pulled from the explosion by the GMan, but what about her?

Somewhere, thousands of gamer geeks are crying.

In one of the combine controlled houses ( in the buggy ride ) there's a telescope showing the GMan talking to one of the persons in the palce you're heading to.. Which seems strange.. This seem like they haven't talked to him.. Bla.

I've found a nice easter egg on the buggy ride, you had to use the G-Gun to pile objects and get behind a fence, then you could see this:

Well, i just beat it and i'm a little sad. The ending was very cool, but i think it's really cruel to leave Alyx dying like that. -_-

It's strange, probably the first FPS game where i've actually given two shits for any of the characters, and it just tears you away from them at the end.

What i want to know is, doesn't Gordon feel like running away? If i were him, next time the GMan pulls me out of the void for another mission, i'd just run away. Heh. Poor little pawn.

Funniest bit though, when you have a squad and manhacks appear, they shout "HACKS!" <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

True true very fast paced action needed there. But I was more annoyed by them spawning allies all the time, it seems they kept getting in my way while I go for cover and no they weren in going for cover themselves :/

They looked more like cannon fodder to me then actual simulated human AI <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I still dont get where Gordon is being stored, he must go MAD being locked up in a black spacial time anomoly thingy. Also the not talking thing he does is weirdlike, here we have a highly educated scientist who doesnt speak <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

--Spoiler with a tag in a spoiler thread, oh well guess its just a habit I'm not going to bother coloring the text since its LEGAL, HAH!--

At the part where some resistance went to the flooded basement(infested with standart zombies) and theres one surviver calling out for help "IS THERE SOMEONE THERE!!!" Gordon doesnt speak. I mean how does the man order a beer at a bar... What!? He goes TOOT (use button sound) o.O

    --The end or is it--

G-man talks funny, is he an alien or a godlike creature?
Does he have the power to stop/slowdown time?
    Where is gordon being stored?
Whats with the TIE and the BRIEFCASE?
What happened to Sheppard or goin to happen Alyx?
    Whats the releasedate of HL3?
Will the source be stolen once more?

    2) as we see at the end yes

    4) the briefcase has a gun i believe (some one said they used no clip and they saw a gun inside) the tie is to go with the awsome suit
5)sheppard is dead i believe , alyx on the other hand has her fate undecided (thats why valve doesnt show her actualy explode into flames <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Lamar is on Gordon's head, as the bit at the end of the credits shows

the combine are a slaver race, but not exactly. They're like the covenant in Halo, they find species and the incorporate them into the whole, using whatever skills they might have, or just turning them into cannon fodder. It's a combination of species. Also, it would seem that whenever a species puts up too much resistance, instead of trying really hard to conform them, they just wipe them out.

The soldiers are CPU civil protection units, and from the way Breen talks to them, they are human. They are "the best the species has to offer."

those thumpers drive the ant lions back because it overdrives their senses. From what I can figure, they run off of smell and vibration sensation. This is why they can follow you, you smell right and they can't see you. The reason you can't stay on the sand is because they sense the vibrations and know there is prey.

There really is a lot of info about these guys, but not quite enough. This entire thing gave you enough info to keep you onboard but too little to fully satisfy you and thus you will have to buy HL3.

BTW that combine alien that you see towards the end... it's head looked very similar to those gunships..

edit: and if Gman is a godlike creature, then he and his colleagues are playing with pawns much like the greek and roman versions.
but... to the highest bidder... it really would seem we are part of an interdemensional mercenary service.

edit2: that vibration sense also serves for hearing.

that's an interesting question. I thought the designers set it up well so that the player would be forced to realize what they were for, even if they have not been explained.

I was quite curious about the first one since it represents a piece of high technology in seemingly the middle of nowhere. Because of this I did the requisite snooping necessary to reveal their function.

I wouldn't be surprised if Valve put out at least one HL2 expansion. They did it with HL(though I hope they can do better this time). Knowing Newell, he won't be satisfied calling something HL3 until he can make a huge technology leap again, and I just hope the plot won't be in stasis until then.

I thought everything with the new Grav Gun was an absolute blast, but the final "boss" was very disappointing. It basically amounted to a handful of regular enemies and a jumping puzzle. Bleh.

I dunno really how good the expansions would be though. The likely choices would be Alyx or Barney, the thing is, both of them are working toward the same goal as Gordon so it would be the same thing. It wouldn't be Father Grigori, it definately wouldn't be one of the Combine (How fun would standing guard somewhere be?) it wouldn't be Breen or GMan, and, well, that's about it.

I meant an actual storyline sequel. I doubt they'll do the same thing they did with Black Mesa, though I suppose they could do something with another character in the aftermath of HL2. I think it would be appropriate to release an expansion or two featuring Gordon's G-Man errands, and if HL3 ever comes out it would bring finality to the G-Man and whoever it is that he works for(if anyone).

Just completed it. It seems the Gman is offering your services to people for profit. You're basically a "Rent-a-Hero". He wakes you up, you save the day, and then he puts you back in your box, until next time.

Anyone catch a glimpse of those four legged aliens near the end? They were walking across the platform as you flew over in your little portable-train.

Nope. Time obviously kept going in the real world, but Gordon Freeman wasn't there anymore. It's obvious the G-Man is able to transfer through dimensions, probably by using his briefcase.

He's quite a sales guy though.

"Hello Mr. Freeman, commission's running low, so I need you to save the earth again by killing a bunch of crap so then I can make you unconscious for a few years. "

    OSHA > G-Man.

So, after completing the game around an hour ago, I'm still loving it. The best part of the game is obviously where you are locked in the prison area. I got such a rush that whole time. Also, nothing is more fun than running around holding a turret.

The physics really took the idea of Half Life and made it into Half Life 2. Amazing immersion, good AI, blow your load graphics, and well done characters all sum up the best game I've ever played.

Oh yeah, the way the story was told was still top notch. I love the Half Life plot style, because it's more realistic and indirect. Really adds to the immersion factor.
