    Anyone catch a glimpse of those four legged aliens near the end? They were walking across the platform as you flew over in your little portable-train. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    you mean these guys? <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Yeah, those puzzled me, maybe a hint of what to come in HL3?

    Did anyone else get the impression that the Combine was using humans as organic componants in their vehicles? As you were going through the Citadel, there was one part where you saw gunships flying out a window. Breen kept going on about humanity evolving. Remember looking at the Striders and gunships and seeing how they seems to move organically? These machines almost looked like they were alive.

    Finished this morning <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    anyone else feel like they realy were just playing more of HL?

    the feel of HL2 was exactly what I ussed to have when playing HL, it is amasing that Valve managed to recapture all of that and then just EXPAND on it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I also now have a desire to go through with cheats for 1 reason:

    super Grav Gun as my only weapon through out the entire game (well, I guess I need an RPG and some nades also...)

    hehe

    I hope they release a plot sequal (or just as good would be the prequal!)

    Just finished, ending was spectacular.

    Anybody else think that all the organic combine machines looked alot like various fish and shellfish? Like the dropships look like those shark whales with the long thin mouths, those 4 legged things in the end looked like really big crabs, etc.

    Also, when I first shot one of those bouncy energy balls with the grav gun, I just had an image of two people playing racket ball with one of those and a grav gun. That would be sweet.

    if you looked at the rotor on the gunship, you'll notice the blades were actually insect wings...

    I just beat HL2 myself.

    The ending was definately way better than HL1's.

    And Valve was right, I actually felt for the characters. Which is something I really didn't expect to happen. I was all "Alyx! NOoooooooo! wait WTH is wrong w/ me? Oh hi there mr cigarette smoking man"

    However, as bad **** as the gameplay of HL2 is...

    I have to go against the grain and say that HL2's story is *NOT* "the greatest story ever told" by a long shot. Many RPGs have much better stories.

    The main problem is, like HL1, there really isn't that much story at all.

    We never did find out exactly who the 'benefactors' are or where they came from.
    Nor did we find out about what happened in the first place as to why they are there.
    Nor did we find out why the black mesa guys are all the head honchos of the resistance. I mean for all we know, story-wise the combine's arrival had nothing to do with black mesa, other than it happens to involve the same people.
    We never found out what the deal was w/ the white combine troops that had 1 eye piece. I assume they were alien, but still humanoid?
    And what was up with those skeleton-thin guys w/ the metal chunks in their eyes? And what was up w/ the xen-like four legged things.
    And why the hell are the alien slaves your friends now?
    And what happened to the other Xen aliens, like the Bullsquid (which I know I've seen in HL2 screenshots somewhere...) and the Alien Grunts and those flying things?

    Also, there were no combine black ops assassins, despite their being concept art for them. :(

    A good sequel's storyline should certainly raise more questions, but it should also answer the questions from the previous story, which HL2 didn't do at all.

    Is the GMan using Gordon for good, or for evil? You don't really know, because while yes with the GMan's help, gordon saved the world in Black Mesa and again he saved them from the combine. Or did he? Perhaps Gordon inadvertedly doomed the entire world through his actions. And what being, powerful enough to order an already powerful being like the GMan around, would need Gordon to take care of any situation, as they should be able to do it themselves. Perhaps the GMan is some form of angel, or perhaps maybe the devil himself?

    And now, random HL2 fact: The part Barney is pinned down by sniper fire, when you get to the top floor of that building but are not yet in the line of fire for the snipers, they start shooting at the birds, even as they fly up and into the air. Just kinda funny to see these two blue laser lines following a crow :P
