Why is telling the thruth and putting ALL of mankind in a war against an overwhelmingly powerful majority it can't possibly win (the humans TRIED fighting the machines, look at the animatrix, we deserved everything that happened to us (wellll not entirely, some humans were protesting FOR machine rights so it's kinda comparable to our ****ed up world right now...) and we got PWNED. Now (errr future now <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) they are EVERYWHERE and are just letting the humans live in the outside world because they WANT to (like the architect said). Everybody is living in an imperfect dream. We -REJECTED- heaven! The first version of the Matrix was perfect yet humanity couldn't let go of their egos and we winded up with the world as we know it right now instead (1999 anways). Is that cruel? The machines could have made us aware of our existence as batteries, living year after year experiencing NOTHING but our captivity and maybe being aware of the fact we were going to die alone.. and yet they gave us freedom.

How about teh fact that the machines could simply sever a few nerve endings and we are still generating body heat and are still "alive" but can't escape, can't fight back... becauase we are paralyzed... Simple & effective! "Oh, you are the anomaly, well here I'll unplug you, have fun drowning in that underground river!!!"
The other thing that really bothered me was once Neo rid the Matrix of Smith, why didn't they machines just knock off the rest of the humans.. They couldn't be stopped at that point..
That way, no choice, no freedom for some, just the 7th iteration of the Matrix with precautions to ensure there isn't a love interest for Neo (which in the grand scheme of things was what really screwed the machines)
That single thing is what increased the "cheese" factor 1000X for me, the machines held back because of Neo.. Please...
Well the machines didn't make us blubbering idiots because we actually generate more heat when we are deep in thought (or any thought at all). Ask the long-term potheads if the same is true with them. I think not.
And yeah.. the machines stopping for neo was pretty cheesy.
The machines may get a bit less heat energy that way, but they'd make up for it in buckets and spades by being able to focus the energy into finding a way to sort out the whole "nuclear winter" problem than create an elaborate (yet poorly managed) virtual world. They wouldn't have to waste any energy on killing machines and hunting droids, because no human could escape.
Then again, that might create robot unemployment, hurting the robot economy and harming the chances of robo-president's re-election.

Hmm... In the Second Renaissance didn't they nuke the hell out of the machine city? And the explanation they give is that radiation doesn't hurt machines.
Last time I checked nukes produce a damn big EMP. I guess those old bots were a lot tougher, eh?
As far as I'm concerned, the Matrix was a mildly interesting action movie that ripped _everything_ off from older books and movies, and its sequels were garbage put out to take in cash.

Somethings just shouldn't have sequels. It ruins them. I think the first two movies were fine. I enjoyed Reloaded, and I think I actually liked it a bit better than Enter the Matrix at the time I watched it because I watched it out of my own free will rather than watched it because of the hype (this was soon before Revolutions came out on DVD), and plus I fast forwarded through the unecessary sex scene.
Revolutions was somewhat dissapointing for me. At first, it was an extension to the ending of Reloaded, but that quickly changed. I can understand why they showed them fighting the machines, but I don't understand why they made Neo vs. Smith the worst DBZ fight ever created. The ending did leave one question, "Peace was made in an instant because of Neo... Can that peace last without someone breaking that peace in an instant?"

What it boils down to is once you know what do you do with the knowledge because you can really never go back, even though some of them sure tried to.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Actually, he could control anything related to "the source" after he had been there...
That's why he was able to manipulate say a Sentinal, but not, those human roboty thinger-majigs...
Oh, and Reloaded liked donkey scrotum. If I want to see CG mech battles, I'll play Mechwarrior.
if you recall, when the architect is talking to the oracle in the last scene he makes a comment. The Oracle asks if the machines will keep their word (staying true to neo's pact), and he responds by saying "What do you think we are? Human?" I guess that meant to me that machines, in their infinite perfection, are incapable of illogical deceit (as they do not have emotions, etc etc) <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That's pretty much how I figured it went down. I mean, Neo kinda did make a deal with the head machine guy....thing.
One thing I don't understand: why didn't Smith use the billions of lesser Smiths in the final battle? The just stood there picking there noses or something while Neo and uber-Smith made water explode. Actually, how did that original Smith ever acquire those magical mystical powers in the first place? The last time we saw him prior to the final battle, he was just a "normal" ex-agent.... <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Smith smithicated the Oracle to become that power. Yes, there were copies of him, but only one of them was able to truly stand up to Neo, and that was the smithicated Oracle.
Smith was growing ever more powerful once he gained his pseudo-ambition. He just needed time to grow into the uber powerful being.
And the reason it was just the one fighting Neo was plain and simple overconfidence. If you study the story, you'll notice that the marovingian tells us that nobody can steal the eyes of the oracle, they have to be given willingly. When smith shows up she just complacently gives in. She does this for the sole reason of making sure Neo only has to fight the 1 smith.
I can illustrate this in a diagram:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->

I agree on the overconfidence thing, since almost all villains in all movies embrace this so that they can have a contrived weakness.
<b>But then why Smith couldn't pass along the powers of the Smithicated Oracle to each of the other Mini-Smiths is what I want to know.</b>
"Hello Neo. Do you know who this is?"
"Mom?"
"No Neo, I am not your mother. Guess again."
"Mom?"
I love that movie. :D
When I got a DVD burner the first thing i did was burn it off to DVD format. :D
Too bad its still in low res though. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
..i feel somehow those guys were sponsored by mc donalds... i loved the chase scenes at the end of the movie, with the silly music <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I agree.
If I'm thinking of the right group, they also made a movie called "Saving Ryans Privates" (comedy, not porn), but it wasn't as popular as Computer Boy.
The funny thing about the car chase scene is Computer Boy came out long before Reloaded was even in pre-production, so its very ironic how that came out. Heh.
