Well when I was back in highschool, I was intially at a smaller school then most, there were 10 seniors.. and I think 100 in K-8, including the freshman/sophmore/junior/seniors in high school. That was probably the worst time in my life period. Then I moved in my sophmore year to a much larger city and the class sized went up by 100 fold. I had 500 in my sophmore class alone. That really made the difference, it made me appreciate highschool and all the learning that is possible if you get teachers that love their job and aren't so narrow minded. Granted, SD isn't exactly known for its awesome population size, but colleges love us midwestern highschool grads. :-)

*edit* I am 4 hours away from minneapolis. I would assume he is referring to either burnsville, or bloomington? *edit* :-)

Problems are relative. This thread proves that if nothing else.

    I'm German and I spent 2 years in California. I loved it <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
When you say "corny", do you mean that Germany is "spiessig"?

The verb "stechen" can also mean <a href='http://doctor-net.de/index.php/Koitus#Umgangssprachliche_Begriffe' target='_blank'>"to have sexual intercourse with"</a>.

edit: I'm curious why you went to Germany for 2 years. Was your father or mother transferred there by their employer?

I'm glad I'm not in an American school, otherwise I would have probably been arrested for all the gory violent pictures I draw in my agenda.

Oh yeah, and if the 'incredibly crappy german techno music' you are talking about turns out to be Rammstein, I <i>will</i> stab you.

Wow. Land of the free, indeed.

That'd be my cue to move as far away from that school as possible. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My school has regular drug checks, with dogs and everything. Really pisses me off. I'm thinking about taping a few cheyanne peppers under my car to **** them off. That, or rub a bunch of weed on the fabric in my trunk, just to **** them off as well. It's what I live for. If I knew where my locker was, I'd do the same.

I live in denmark. Some very small country, located on some small islands just north of germany.

When I was in the 6th grade, I brought a morning star (medieval weapon), that I had bought in france as a suovenir, to school to show my friends. A teacher spottet it and remarked that I needed a weapons license to own such a weapon. Nothing more, he didn't confiscate it or anything.
When I was in 9th grade i accidentally dropped my butterfly knife (which I had bought on a school-trip to the Chezch repuplic) through a hole in my pocket. My math teacher saw it and said I'd better not bring such things to school. Nothing else happened, he didn't confiscate it.
Summer vacation, the very same year (actually this year), my knife got confiscated by the police, as I was spottet using it cutting some wires (doing my work). Which is perfectly fine, because I'm aware of that it's an illegal knife. And I do have another butterfly from Chezch lying in my drawer, but I'm not gonna bring it with me anywhere, in rememberence of the fine I achieved from the other knife.

As a final note, I'm gonna say that I have never used any weapon against anyone, and I'm not ever gonna do so. I do have a soft side for weapons, but I'm a person who would rather resort to peace than combat.

I wouldn't feel comfortable translating that infront of my classmates.

The best is letting your principal borrow your knife for something... It makes him look like an **** if he says anything to you after that.

    senior year in high school-
naps every day in a locked room (keys are fun)
    easy classes except calc 4
during the random drug search, being stuck in the library for an hour instead of at an exam

My old school sucked too. All these ppl that give a **** about giving patience to the lessons and their grades. It really **** me off. My new school is a lot better. Everyone there wants to get good grades so they all listen.

My school is awesome in the way that it's so laid back.

You can swear all you like and threats are hardly a problem compared to real fights.

Preppy schools and their rules tick even an overachiever like me off.

Once for a french oral I was allowed to bring a paintball gun into the classroom and talk about it in front of the class. We also frequently tested out our paintball markers and some slingshots in the creek behind the school. I can't imagine what would happen if we did stuff like that down south!
