<div class="IPBDescription">Yay :/</div> Now my CD-Drives r freaking me.. They won't work at all, they don't appear in this computer and when this hardware manager thing it says that ïts drivers are not working or something like that, my daemon drives wont work either. WTHIGOH???

    1: Try having a good conversation with your pc, tell each other of your problems, try to work things out.

    2: Give a nice warm bath. give it a bit of fresh dustless air.

    3: If that didn't work, try putting in LAN with other PC's, they might help yours.












    To be serious on the other hand, try a new Windows installation, if things still mess up, go try another IDE cable, if that doesn't work, try another CD-R driver...

    You took a look in your bios? Maybe there was an error and it got reseted. Press del while your PC boots up.

    I can boot with cds, I've tried with winxp and it works.

    Obviously, you are running a Token CD Drive. The token must have fallen out. It's in your room someplace. You're going to have to find it and put it back in.

    Boot from your windows cd and run repair, it that won't work try to reinstall windows.

    Well, since all my computer is **** up and windows thinks that windows is installed in F:\WINDOWS (that doesn't even exist) I can't run repair. Now this could be the source of the problem since the problem is the drivers. The driver for all cd-rom drives on my computer is:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\imapi.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\PxHelo20.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redhook.sys
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\storprop.dll

    Cud anyone check their drivers and see if i'm missing something?

    This problem is too high for us noobs, just do the same as we:
    A fresh "format c:" should solve the problem...

    Well I have checked on my XP Pro install here at work.

    I have all of those files except two.

    One of mine is called redbook.sys, the other is pxhelp20.sys.

    Of course that could be because this install is the bare minimum for xp :-)

    I would still try reinstalling windows with a fresh format. Of course if you have multiple computers you could always try hooking up your HD to one of them so you can back up the information before you format. :-)
