<div class="IPBDescription">I am inclined to laugh</div> Pretty sad when <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showforum=37' target='_blank'>this forum</a> has more action than <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showforum=23' target='_blank'>this one,</a> eh?
How about an official statement from the dev team about what they think of competetive play? That way we could offically kill any devteam moral left of NS clanners.

What happened to the idea of a clan forum that wasn't just for recruitment?

I can imagine the conversation now,
"Hey maybe we should give the NSClanners a place to chill talk and setup leagues and stuff"
"Almost a good idea except that we hate clanners, I mean lol what have they ever done for NS\!??"
1) Advertisements for clans needing members. (duh)
2) PUGs could be planned there, or announced in advance to draw in extra players.
3) HLTV matches of clan scrims and/or tournaments could be posted there.
4) It could be merged with the Leauges and Tournaments forum - both see little activity, and the two forums cover somewhat similar topics.
5) There could be an archive of demos of good matches for people to watch (and the appropriate version files needed to watch them).
I'm sure the clanners can think if some more (probably better) ideas for what the CR forum should contain.

The NS staff recognizes that competitive players have helped NS (and thus its community of both competitive and casual players) in the past. For their assistance, both the staff and the community have expressed their thanks.
It is my sincere hope that when we "do something for clanners" in the future, you will recognize it, and express your thanks.
Any more official opinions left to be said are probably better left to staff members other than myself.

2. No pugs are planned in #nspug. It's a lot more effective to do it on the fly then plan it before hand.
3. This is done in #nspug and #findnsscrim aswell but it would be nice to be posted in some forum on match dates to watch or something like that. Tournaments are already postable in the tournament forum.
5.You can find some really good demos on www.ampednews.com if you were interested.
All irc channels are on irc.gamesurge.net

He's partially right about demos though, you could discuss them in detail and tactics, whereas everyone hates talking on amped due to it's slowness

The forgotten ATI Tournament?
<a href='http://www.nspug.com/showthread.php?threadid=137' target='_blank'>http://www.nspug.com/showthread.php?threadid=137</a>
When I put that up for approval it was coldbloodedly denied. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Wasn't criogenics working on that? Whatever happened with that site.
Forlorn: I've talked to you extensively in the last two weeks about competitive play, as well as I've belonged to several clans in my NS career..
FFT
RR
GP
cara (for a short while)
and now with <a href='http://www.caleague.com/?page=teams&teamid=11382' target='_blank'>obs.</a> (though I haven't played with them for a while.. darn RL)
So coming out with random statements about how the devs hate competitive play = little bit sad....
I've got a few things cooking in the next little while to draw more attention to competitive play.
As for forums to discuss things, there are 2 main areas that seem to lend themselves to clanners quite well.. The 2 strategy forums. And I really think an exclusive clanner forum would ultimately lead to the old vet forums where egos prevailed and common sense was often ditched in exchange for massive flaming..

I dunno, he does bring up a point about the forums

Just because you an I care does not mean that anyone else does. Perhaps instead of dev's I should replace with "Producer"?
And maybe ego's will prevail - no actually they probably won't, will you please lose the misconception that clanners are different people everyone acts the same regardless of a tag or clanner enviroment.
It's that kind of attitude though, the idea that clanners can't spell, think right, or just like to flame each other is why the clan scene is dying because it's shunned by half the community and the other half doesn't even know a clan scene exists.
I wish <span style='color:orange'>rest of line edited out</span>
and less cheese in maps.
But anyway, NSDevs do care about competitive playand as far as the competitive site goes I believe crio was working on it and then vanished?
Sorry, MrBen, you deserve some <3 for that <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If I was here trying to stir up drama I'd be acting like our resident contributor and playtester
Plus, ever think that people just don't recruit that much on the n-s.org forums? You can just go into various irc channels and find a clan to join (though it would be harder now that the CAL rosters locked.)
Well, it sure did help when they axed Communist With A Gun...
Mmm...dignity.
