<div class="IPBDescription">blah</div> I was playing ns the other night in the eternity server, and all of a sudden the hive got bored and said "NOW, WE ALL DANCE!" i thought that was funny and i knew somone triggered it but im not sure how. Later in that same game we were losing pretty badly and the hive once again let us know it was there by declareing "This place is a mess!" i was not sure if i was smoking crack and not knowing it, or if the hive really said that. So I asked my teamates they all said they heard it too! I knew i needed to investigate this so I looked in th NS sound files sure enough, Its there. Along with "WE NEED BETTER PLAYERS!" , "I SEE DAED PEOPLE!" and my favorite "THIS IS MY HIVE, THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT, BUT THIS IS MINE!" gotta love the hive! <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tiny.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tiny.gif'> Almost forgot, can someone tell me how this happend? How did the hiv decide to say that?

"now we dance" is triggered when you get 3 hives.
"this place is a mess" Im not sure what triggers that
maybe when people are attacking your hive or something.

I've heard something like

You also hear that as a Marine Commander...gets quite annoying when you are a commander.

maybe if you kill a certain amount of marines, kill marines around the hive, or kill marines killing the hive.

Ok children gather 'round the fire and listen close. Its not "now we dance" the hive say's this once you get 3 hives " Now We Donce " if you listen close it's very clear the hive mind says dOnce not dAnce. Everyone should go into their NS folder and listen to the .wav's in the Sounds directory.
There's some crazy stuff in there, including
"There is my hive, there are many like it but this one is mine"

Which is very similar to a line from Full Metal Jacket but replacing the word "Hive" with the word "rifle"

i was playing fade once, EVERYONE on the team went fade and rushed marine base (suicide skulks had taken down turrets)

it was a good 32 player game, nice ping actually, we had the extra two players.

we rushed command chair...

omfg that was so funny, 16 fades bile bombing the place...

one of the marines commented that "the aliens appear to be puking everywhere"

then we all went slashing the command chair after b-bombing the spawns to destruction.

each one of us was slashing right after the other, so it was kinda like a constant sound. somebody got the smart idea to synchronise our slashing... "synchronised slashing"

turns out the marines had more spawns elsehwere. some **obscenity** went gorge and build a healing chamber next to us in case the commander ejected and started shooting.

then the siege turret locked onto it and blew us all up.

oh dera... the new players don't know about the pre release community much it seems. Donce has been part of NS for quite some time. As well as SUYF, started by mart in the IRC channel, it means shut up your face.

I knew it was the hive and it had perfect timeing right after that i killed over 7 marines with no armor and lmgs with bile bomb...i love the hive lol

A 'Donce' is just another word for dance. I'm not quite sure where it came from. First time I saw it was in a caption to a pic of Flayra muckin about, pretending to boogie. It's definately not a british thing.

Its just kinda caught on and stuck <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'>

He's right. The sounds are there. I listened to them back when the Dedicated server release came out (I looked in the sounds folder, found things call "now.wav" and "donce.wav". It's nice to see that the NS team has good humor. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='smile.gif'>

Just ask Quad. He'll know that those sounds were in there and that I saw them back during the DS release.

By the way Shadowe, what the <i>hell</i> has that got to do with this topic?
