    (side note: you might want to have said, "why do you ask?" instead of "why you asked?" better setence structure and keeps it present tense implying an open question... thought "Why did you ask?" is acceptable since you already answered the question, though not as common in practice)

    Of course you can ignore me... I'm an engineer, I don't do much writing that's going to be critiqued at that level.
