<div class="IPBDescription">Remake for lower polys and easier skin</div> Well, some of you may have seen the prior model I did of the GatorV2 by Drake. Due to some concerns of mine with skinning and poly counts, I've decided to re-do this model.

    Here is my current progress:

    BTW Drake: I modified the barrel guard to decrease polys about half (One side was about 700 polys vs 400 for both sides). Current Poly Count is 720. I will also probably modify the butt of the gun for looks of the shoulder pad.

    1134 -- looking like about a 1700 poly total with hands, hopefully -- so not too much more than stock

    Could anyone point me in the direction of the original gun? Looks like something I might use, regardless of polycount.

    actualy it wasnt that hight poly it was a quite good model unfortunetly i dont have a link to it im sure drake or delarosa has one

    Completed Mesh -- All that is left is attaching parts and UV Unwrap

    It looks a little plain to me, on the main body... I think you should add more detail. Maybe reduce the faces on the cylinders for a few extra polies.

    final poly count is 1472 pre-hands... i shaved just about everything i could while keeping both sides of the model intact.

    Well, you have to realize that the model is unskinned. Lots of detail will be added there for poly reasons. Also, the cylinders are only 9 polys so i realy can't scavenge much there. Most of the polys are in the grip, body, and barrel guard.

    You've still got a few polies to play with... Hrm... I would make the magazine a bit more detailed, if you can find creative ways to show it off in the animations.

    Well, I'd really like to keep this lower in poly's simply for usability. I'd like more than just high-end players to be able to use this model. On top of that, lots of detail can be done with skins. This model will be comprised of 4 512x512 skins, which means a super high amount of detail can be added.

    default poly count with hands is 1680 -- looking at right around 2000 on this one with hands. Current poly count is 1470

    Not yet. I'm considering doing the skinning myself, or atleast trying to, but I'm going to need someone to animate it.
