GLAD AS HELL YOU ARE AMUSED BY IT.

It's not funny at all. You're right You had nothing to say against the models, but guess what? you DID have something to say about his reaction. You even said so yourself. I dont find a problem with it, because it's rational. Just because I dont react that way with crits doesnt mean i dont understand his reaction. You all say forums are FOR crits. Sometimes, other times it's just for releases and knowing the people who you get your stuff from better. Just because it's a forums and someone posts their stuff doesnt mean they want to hear your opinion on it. Most of the time, it's welcome, but with this it wasnt, and even after he said it wasnt, people went on and on about it. JEBUS CHRIST.

It's pretty much implied that when you post a release on a forum open for posting, in an area where modellers get together, often evaluating eachother's work, that there will be opinions voiced. You could ask a mod to lock the thread right as you post it, that would stifle any opinions. The only other alternative is to just ignore what is said, as in not reading the thread after posting. I guess if he was checking the thread, he was interested in what people would be saying about it (Hell, everyone knows what normally happens when things are released in here. People comment). It's a shame that some of the things said, such as "The wrist is too thin" (Make the wrist less thin, it will look better), are small criticisms as opposed to mindless praise, but that will happen.

ummm, ok ice's models are being removed from public to CC as per ice's request. Damn guys, you just chased another great talent from the ns forums. First was my boi Sushi now ICE.

This stuff takes tons of time to make, all the guy wanted was, was for the community to enjoy it.

Ice maybe you should just release on our forums instead? Anyway ill look into this.

Thats too bad man. Seems kind of odd to make such a fuss about the models in the first place and then refuse to release them. But they are your models, and as you keep saying, you dont owe us anything.

My first post on these forums (although I have been watching them without an account for quite a few months) and this thread made me register just to say this. The quality of it's members is sorely lacking. Anyway, here is my opinion on this thread.

Since this IS Ice's release thread and he DID do this model, doesn't he have a right to ask you all to keep the criticism down? Maybe he doesn't want to hear it. All he is doing is offering you the model and you shoot him down. If you want to criticise and flame, go criticise and flame in a thread where the creator wants it. The maturity here is just disgusting. If someone doesn't want you to do something, you go ahead and do it anyway? Wow I can't wait for some of you kids to get into the real world. See how far that gets you.

Regardless, this threat STINKS with jelousy. I bet most of your problems stem from the fact that you know you will never be 1% of what Ice is, so you are HAPPY to see him go. He reminds you of what you will never be. Please, some of you, grow up.

If you don't want constructive criticism, you should clearly mention it in the first post. Don't yell at people because they haven't read 7 pages of stuff.

I believe if you make a thread in a FORUM, you're asking for people's opinions. If you don't want to hear what people think, clearly state so with large <b>bold</b> text clearly and decisively. Or better yet, release it on NSArmslab or something without a thread.

I don't like people indirectly flaming others relatively. So I'm going to stop before I start doing the same.

    fo·rum ( P ) Pronunciation Key (fôrm, fr-)
    n. pl. fo·rums, also fo·ra (fôr, fr)

The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.
A public meeting place for open discussion.
A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper or a radio or television program.
A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation.
A court of law; a tribunal.

Just my opinion, don't flame me.

Yes, I'm glad these forums aren't under Nazi regime.

I think the wrists are looking really thin because of something I heard of called "HL model distortion". So when you create a model idealistically, it's not going to look exactly right within HL, if i'm correct.

Although, I'm not a modeller, so take this as a grain of sand, until someone who can model backs me up.

To be honest Ice, that kind of negative attitude towards helpful critisim isn't needed here. If you don't want anything other then praise I think you either A) Go away and keep things to your self B) Live in your own little wonderland where everything if perfect. Or C) Deal with it and take it as helpful critisims (Because they are helpful.) and improve your work.

God dammit, what the hell is with the NS creation forums?!? I swear, between you guys and the mappers I could have a freaking soap opera, you creative people and your infernal love of drama <!--emo&--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->. I hate to sound offensive Ice, I absolutly love the work you have done on the hands, but isn't it a little immature to get so worked up over a little constructive criticism? I agree with you that it is out of place in light of you posting that you don't want constructive criticism, but the discription of the NS customization forum is <!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->THE location for replacement models, skins, sounds, and sprites. Post, download, <b>discuss</b>, and get help here. Nothing R-rated please<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> and most people aren't going to read every post of a thread, expecially in this forum where it is generally considered common practice to look at someone's work and post a critique.

Anyways, I'm not trying to say that it isn't within your rights to pull your models out of public distribution, I'm just saying that as far as I am concerned a little constructive criticism is not a big deal. If you see the construction and release of your models as a small thing worth witholding in order to combat petty annoyances from other people on the forums, that is your perogitive. But I want to tell you, to me, it wasn't a small thing. I was really looking forward to seeing what you came up with, on a similar level to the way I was looking forward to HL2 after seeing the first E3 demo vids, and it really bugs me that I have to suck it due to these hard heads who are smashing themselfs into your hard head. All I'm saying is I think you would find it hurts alot less to sidestep then you seem to think it will.

Since Ice appears to have quit, can we have this thread closed, so it won't interfere with stuff actually getting released?

Excuse me if I don't fall over and die from shock.
