<div class="IPBDescription">combat mode sux?</div> I haven't played the latest beta yet but based on the changelog and the complete nerfing on alien morphing, I'd say that combat mode for the aliens is hell now.
Teh fact that you need to remorph, after you die, while the marines are siitting in your hive with shotties, hmgs or whatever just seems to make combat unbalanced now don't you think?

not quite as much as they used to be
but yes a fade with adren/cara/cele/regen and focus will still own anything
This just teaches you that you can't expect to be a fade or onos or lerk, and charge into a bunch of HMG wielding marines and expect to come back with no consequences.
The gest times should be as long as regular NS, as far as I'm concerned.
but what i'm asking is whether or not teh new spawn system makes the aliens suffer more than before since they can't come back as super fade // onos // lerk?

your spot on mate, lets face it on one likes gorge, and even me as a fade hoe can go off and get killed then heal the hive is need be, its made aliens alot more versatile and also nerfed them (slightly) at the same time, I am actually very pleased with the new combat system.
Two guys camp base, the other four pile into the hive. You proceed to gangbang the hive while the aliens attempt to sweep your base. Your defenders ace the alien attackers, and just as the hive is about to die......... 4 fades spawn in beside you, and beat the crap out of you before blinking to your base and smashing it while you're still in the spawn queue.
It'll just speed up endgames, I don't see it affecting anything else. I mean, you're STILL spawning in with all your upgrades aren't you? You'll still have focus, for one, so that means if its just 1 or 2 rines in base you'll be easily defending.
I think it'll only really come up at an endgame, or in a situation where every alien has rushed the marine spawn hoping to kill the CC quickly, but at the same time have left their hive wide open with no defence.

I like gorge. Has anyone else tried cara/redmpt onos in co now? It is godly.

lerks:dont you hate it when you fly around a corner and die? now you gotto upgrade back again!
fades: well if your a good fade you wont die so no biggie
onos: run so slow that you will be in their base like once every 5 minutes... thats bad.
new respawn is a bad idea. it was meant to be good but its not. however i though of a way to fix it. and going onos, fade, ect. takes 25% less time gesating than in classic.
after you die you keep all your upgrades but you spawn as skulk.
this way you cant have 5 onos spawn and it takes a little time to get backto a strong guy.
superskulks can keep there rushes up. superskulks are scarce now...
if the developers dont add this idea then ill learn to prgram and make a regular spawn thingy for beta 5 as a plugin!!

You gotta have backup, and you better hope they don't come bursting out all at once to come and rape you.
I've played about 5 games and aliens won them all
But i agree, marines become a bit stronger.
Still, not overpowered.

Onos: No where near that long, not even without celerity.
Fades: This can be said for any lifeform.
Lerks: I hope you are trying to be funny, Lerks are not supposed to charge after marines.
Gorges: Webs are a game ender for most marine teams.
Skulks: Better to die from xenocide than a marine's bullet.

thats what i was gonna say....so now if the marine team manages to take down 3 onos with 2 lerks sporing everything and 2 fades blinking everywhere and 2 skulks xenoing the survivors, with of course the a gorge healing hive and web every nick and cranny(10vs10). They deserve to be able to go into the hive and spawn kill then and finish off hive. Anyways if timelimit isnt extend marines have 10 minutes to pull this off so seems ultra fair to me now

so if aliens could some how manage to take down 5 jp with gl and hmgs and a heavy train of 5 people welding each other, they don't deserve to be able to go into marine spawn and spawn kill then and finish off the chair?.
