[wip] Default Lmg

<div class="IPBDescription">Just a bit higher poly</div> Heres something ive been working on for a few hours today, its not that good, i was just wondering if anybody liked it lol. Im not sure if it'd look much different in game but its a high(er) poly version of the default lmg. As you can probably see, there's less detail at the back because you dont see most of that area in game anyway. The polycounts around 2000 at the moment unoptimized, but that doesnt seem too bad for a v_ model anyway. C&C or any ideas etc. Btw, the top one is the default lmg <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Looks good, would be nice to see a high poly remake or the GL cause it's not too nice to look at as it's default

    Go for it! Would love to see all the models and their skins redone to higher poly etc. would be really cool, would definatly use that LMG in game - nicely done.

    I'll take a shot at meshing it if you want, I've always liked this concept, but hated the default LMG (low poly ugg-factor).

    ok, i think ill try and optimize it first dorian then ill post the file here. Though im not sure how well ill be able to optimize it.. meh. Actually, see what you think of it at the moment for meshing. The right side is very plain but that should be fine, the default one basically doesnt have a right side (i think its the right side that you dont see). Models is in .3ds format... hope thats ok.

    Well, I love it.. I've always liked the original LMG, just looked a bit low-quality.

    I think its the way its positioned, i never really liked a clip sticking though the middle of my screen :/

    hmm i pictured it without the scope and its not pretty, who cares you cant use it it balances out the scope, so i suggest leaving it on and people who want it off can just rip it off of there

    yep... that's what I meant... there was a signup, but it never really started cause of lack of concept art ( 0.o )

    Here's a WIP pic of the meshing. The blue bits aren't done, the colored bits are. So far, I could probably fit it on 2 or 2.5 512x512 meshes. The front takes up a whole mesh, and the scope and mag probably take up another one or slightly more.

Would you be interested in meshing more default stuff? And yes, i remodelled the lmg from scratch not just added to the old one. Thx for the comments though guys. Any skinners?
