The DM client is a lot like the player client. You create an avatar that can go completly invisible, is invulnerable and can teleport around at will. The DMs have several special pages that players dont. One has the complete list of rescrources for the module (all items, equipment, NPCs, enemy mobs, traps, encounters, etc. Both the standard items and all custom content for that module) which the DM can place anywhere at will. They also have a page with every zone, player, item on the ground, mob, npc, script, waypoint, etc, which they can preform actions on (such as jump to location, jump target to my location, kill, heal, force rest, etc). Along with a load of text commands that players dont have access to (such as ability and level editing, char appearance, etc).

BTW, if you like the Gemstone 3/4 muds, come to Gemstone NWN. A persistant world module based on those text games (more a hack and slash server than RP). No hak pack required. Just NWN and the expansions.

*dances* Woo, NWN 2! ! ! !!!! !! !! I play NWN mostly for roleplay, and thats flippin' fun on the server I play on. And like people have said the single player is pretty bad, because when your playing with others thats where the fun is at. Single player is just tiding you over until mods are made.. ^_^

And secondly, there can be level creating tools IG, creating new land, areas, buildings, etc... it would take time from a DM, but it could still work. Its not impossible at all. If we took half-life back to when counterstrike was first made, and showed them NS, but didnt tell them it was a mod of half life.. they'd think it was a totally different game. When we did tell them, they'd probably be like NO WAY OMG THATS IMPOSSIBLE. But its not. Because its a game. And its not impossible exactally because of that..

Lurker I laughed my **** off at that choo choo thing..

I for one loved the single player, especially Hordes of the Underdark. Yeah I've played multi as well, and yeah it's quite fun. But it seems an overstatement to write single player off as terrible.

HOTU was great. NWN and SOU were awful though.
