<div class="IPBDescription">Do it, and do it often</div> For those who don't know it yet - <b>impulse 7</b> is the Kharaa chuckle. Bind it to something.

I haven't seen a dedicated "Chuckle" thread yet. So here it is.

It's also in the chat menu under Taunt, but I use it so much I've got it bound. C is for Chuckle. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Nothing more frightening for a Marine squad then hearing a Chuckle or two from different corners of the room.

    Aye, I've got it bound to Z. For some reason on a game earlier we had cloaking lv3 and a group of us just sat outside the marine spawn and laughed. You can't spam it solo but we had about 6 of us and it was pretty funny. For some reason the marines only left through the other base exit on that map. Heh. That was on ns_eclipse.

    It must have sounded like we were filming a sitcom outside or something.

    parasting a marine and then sitting outside of their view chucklig is funny stuff. i dont lnow how many times ive seen a yellow circle come real close to me and the turn around and run when they hear the laugh

    Well sure, keep an extra lookout. You know there's one in the room. You just don't know if he's in the corner, on the ceiling, or sitting right in front of you. So what do you do? Why, check them, of course.     I find it hilarious to see a squad of two or three Marines just start emptying clips into random dark spots because I chuckled.

    OMG I couldn't stop laughing after i read that. I'm so going to cloak and just laugh my **obscenity** off. I don't care if the marine knows i'm in the room, they figure it out when a skulk is attacking them.


    Now all i have to do is make a script so that every time i attack it does a chuckle. HMMMM

    Last night 3 marines came out of there base..they where all rookies.. anyway i was level3 cloaked.

    they where really enthuisiast.. making commands like: " follow me" "affirmative" "lets move out".

    i was on the ceiling.. when they walked past me i parasited them. they noticed and began to search the complete room. obviously they couldnt find me. i chukkle.. now they became real paranoid firing there HMG's all over the place... i chukkled again... they turned complete beserk. shooting all around me.. i was quite lucky.. bullets literally hit a few time just 1 inch away from me. they ran out of there bullets. i chukled again. they retreated back to base.. i jumped behind them i killed all 3

    I personally don't understand the "level X" when referring to aliens ... it's like saying one is *always* better than the other.

    If we ever hit Alien vs Alien matches, I'd love to see a "Level 5" Onos hit my "inferior Level 3" Lerk flapping around - or hell, my "Level 1" Skulk perched on the ceiling nipping away with Parasite. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> Heck, I'll just Web you with a Gorge and kill you with Babblers. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Speaking of Parasite - why don't more people use this? Skulks get this right off the bat. If you're in the enemy base and about to get swamped - throw a Parasite on <b>everything</b>. That glob of glowing yellow on the hive sight is like a landing beacon for fresh Skulks.

    I for one know that I wont parasite a marine just for the reason that he's probably going to be dead soon and the parasite will wear off. (note: the exception to this is if I'm playing "guard duty" outside the marine base and have some folks running ambushes) On the other hand, I will parasite the HELL out of everything in a marine base just so folks will know where it's at, what kinda structures are in it and, at lower levels, will know to stay clear.

    While I think that parasiting equipment isnt the most believable thing, I must say that it does rock when you need to coordinate attacks, mark defenses and pinpoint where the marines may be holed up at.

    Oh, and just for bragging rights, I finally got a kill with parasite. Granted, the dude was almost dead already, but I just poped him once with the parasite and he keeled over. Talk about one **obscenity** off marine! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I have several keys, Q,G,H and C, bound to different impulses so that I have a wide range of sounds. When playing Skulk, I prefer to wait above the door, or whatever, and right when I am about to bite a Marine I give off one of the alien screams. I know from experience that this can startle the Marines and give you a little bit more advantage to take em out.

    In the last game I played I actually got a squad of four Marines to retreat from me a lone skulk like the rabbit in Monty Python. Used effectivelt the Skulk can be the BEST character in the game, at least until HA+HMG's make them obsolete <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Heres another chuckle story... (i cant remember the map though, its the one with dark gloomy hallways and a silo hive). I was a fade at that time with lvl 3 cloak/carapace/adrenaline... I was cloaked on an elevator that could fit around 5 marines, and then 10 seconds after i cloak there, i hear marine footsteps coming closer and they got on the elevator (around 4 heavy marines) and pressed the button of Doom i say.. DOOM *cough* i then chuckled for the sake of it and ALL of them turned their heads to the direction of the sound then turned away... That actually spooked me more than it spooked them (lol). The elevator reaches its destination and they open fire at our offense chamers, i then attack them taking 2 down with me before i got my grey-matter (or green) blown away.     Where can I find a list of all the impulse commands? I bound chuckle as you suggested, and I have a lot of fun with it. Now I want to bind other noises to keys, but I don't know the impulses. The one I'm particularly interested is the impulse for marine to say "I'm covering you." Can anyone help me out?

    In response to my last message, I found out what the impulses were on my own. This can be <b>very useful</b> especially if you bind impulses 10, 11, 80, and 81

    Voice commands for Marine / Alien

    impulse 7 - follow me / chuckle
    impulse 8 - covering / healing
    impulse 9 - taunt / backup
    impulse 10 - request medpack / incoming
    impulse 11 - request ammo / attack
    impulse 12 - in postion / I'm building here
    impulse 13 - hostiles
    impulse 14 - move out
    impulse 15 - area clear
    impulse 80 - request orders
    impulse 81 - ackowledge

    Somewhere in the forums is the entire list of "impulse" commands, including the bind for Commander and Gorge building. Very, VERY useful. I'm trying to script a method of a StarCraft-style "hotkey" interface in the CC and a normal WASD outside.
