I said yes if he pays you back. Why? Same reason Flint gave. Its kinda...I dunno. Lets just say that if he really should have it, there'd be no question in your mind.

I chose yes because from what I remember DXO was a cool guy. And yes I'm only posting this because he is viewing.

Are you in Canada Delarosa? Cause future shop (known for terrible prices) up hear sells a low end 17" for under 130 dollars (canadian), you should be able to find a monitor in the states for under 120...

    I vote yes BTW...

I voted yes, DXO has helped so much since January with Readyroom.org, Id buy him the monitor myself if I could afford it now.

Yes. Internet or no he is a friend. If you feel that it is within your means and gift range as a friend than I see no reason not to.

If he is as good a friend you say he is then buy him a monitor and a keyboard and a mouse and a cat and a fish and be me friend.

I Voted yes. I've done this before. I was in a great clan, we all got along heaps well, a clanners computer died, so we all chipped in a hundred and managed to get him a fairly decent one. If you never see the money again, so what, you'll earn it back, and i'm sure someone somewhere might give the same to you if you need it.

    Mail him $90.

Just sorting out his problems for him won't teach him anything. Make the little **** work for his supper a little.

I can find 19" monitors at computer fairs for around £30-£50. He should certainly be able to track down a decent monitor for $90. And he'll learn something useful in the process.

I wouldn't mail him the money or the monitor, instead I suggest the two of you get together, pick an appropriate monitor online and then you pay for it but put his address down as the delivery address.

That way there is no chance of money getting lost in the mail or of it buying him a monitor + that cd he's wanted for ages + a pack of cigs... not that I think he's like that but it's still one of those things that goes through your mind.
